No doubt It is better than just picking weak voluntaries, a la Salka.(which was a serious contender for biggest mismatch and worst fight of the decade) It just seems that everyone is doing just enough to do nothing. Mandatories are ok if some real challenges are at least sprinkled in here and there.

You and I were about the only ones who gave Chris a chance in that match, and I think we're the only two on the site that correctly scored it for him as well.:deal

Crazy things like that happen in Boxing all the time.

Is also worth bearing in mind that when the champion is good but not a massive draw (as is the case with Brook) the bigger names will pull out of the chance to become a mandatory and look at other options, bearing in mind the IBF give a 75/25 split to the champion. To many of the name Welterweights with Arum or Haymon, they can earn a lot more than 25% for easier fights than fighting Brook.

Since Brook has been champion, the following guys rejected final eliminators:

    - Leonard Bundu (took the chance of a payday v Thurman on American TV)
    - Amir Khan (Brook was offering him better than 50/50 for a voluntary)
    - Tim Bradley (was offered WBO shot in an easy fight without having to fight an eliminator first)
    - Shawn Porter (went for easy money v Broner)
    - Sadam Ali ( was also WBO top dog so wants to fight Bradley on Yank TV)
    - Devon Alexander (would have very little chance of beating Brook, when for an easy money Haymon special against Martinez and lost, lolz)

I get the feeling Brook is being avoided a bit. Seems like the other Welterweights would rather fight each other than try to take Brooks title.

No we saw it with clear eyes, we knew how good Algieri was and that he wasn't in trouble, whereas many of you were expecting a Ruslan KO from the first round on after the KD and failed to see Algieri outworking his ass for the last 11 rounds.

Brook does need to fight someone proper soon. At the same time he seems to be getting a bit of unwarranted stick. Bradley got a lot of credit for his win over Rios but people were hating on Brook for even considering Rios as a voluntary.

He needs to make his name bigger because even in the UK he ain't that well known. Sooner or later Hearn needs to spend some cash to get a big name over or Brook needs to take the risk and travel. One or the other.

****, nothing more needs to be said about it (here comes the defense force hyping up Bizier who couldn't even beat Jo Jo Dan).

This is a third subpar opponent in a row now, his title defenses have been ****. I don't undersand this obsession they have with Khan, why only Khan? I understand it's a big domestic bout but it's clear at this point he's not going to fight them so why not just move on to other top opponents instead? It's not like WW is a dead division, there's plenty.

Also please no "but he needs to get those mandos out of the way".
