Seemed boring since it seemed Forrest easily won the first 3 rounds. Mora had a good 4th round and I pretty much didn't pay attention to the 5th. I changed the channel to see the HBO card instead... How did Mora pull off the win? It seemed like Forrest was getting REALLY tired in the 4th round though. Can anyone give me a recap? :think
Mora was more active, was the aggressor, and hard to believe but he outboxed Forrest. Really, Forrest did sh*t after the first 3 rounds or so. I was just thinking, "Please don't rob Mora" when they read the judges score cards. It was a pretty clean win for Mora.
Yeah I mean it was only boring in the first 3 rounds where Mora really didn't seem like he had an answer. But Forrest significantly slowed down in the 4th and seemed like Mora smelt that. The 4th was good and the 5th seemed like it had some action as well. But I had to see the HBO card lol, so I changed it. Was Forrest exhausted by the end of the 12 rounds? Energy wise I'm guessing Mora was still strong near the end...
I think Forrest's age has caught up to him. Don't get me wrong, he will still have a lot of success against limited, conventional fighters but Mora is a style nightmare for most people. He's quick, has good reflexes, gives good feints, and just keeps you off guard. He's Hopkins like in the sense that he's just a tough guy to track down. Give credit to Mora but Forrest looked old.
ok a blurry recap - much great boxing tonight; Mora was strangely in a groove after the 9thish - a slick crack to forrest's jaw thereabouts started to make VF wonder a bit, man was Mora a weird one to watch. thought forrest was a given, but Mora kept on coming up with these bizarre shots, ah **** you know what? it's 2008 - just download the fight and enjoy a relatively good fight. Mora won.
Mora basically outworked Forrest after the 5th round. Forrest wasn't doing enough, and abandoned his jab. He started looking for that one punch to knock Mora out, but Mora was throwing more at the same time.
Not to mention that Mora landed a lot of body shots and that definitely took the steam out of Forrest without a doubt.
