He actually did well tonight as the play by play guy in Cloud-Stevenson. I know in the past I've been one of Max's most vocal critics here. I've called him the village idiot, said he must have photos of someone at HBO, and compared him to the muppet Beaker. But tonight he did really well doing the play by play for Cloud-Stevenson. I didn't hear Max say a single stupid or cringeworthy thing, he and Roy worked well off each other, and he didn't say even one embarrassing kiss-ass thing to Roy the whole night. So I'm giving him credit where credit is due. Now don't get me wrong, as a color commentator he's a pathetic disaster. And he still gave us many cringeworthy moments and boring, repetitive and pointless questions in the Bradley-Marquez Faceoff trainwreck. But maybe play by play is actually his thing. What do you think?
Kudos to you for stepping up and giving him credit. Tweet him or email him, I am sure he'll appreciate it.
Didn't watch the HBO telecast last night, but Max is garbage and this will never change, no matter how many undeserved HBO gigs he gets. He should stick to local radio.
Kellerman is very good at what he does. He isn't nearly as bad as some of the criticism he gets on this site suggests. To be honest, a lot of it seems to be rooted in jealousy.
they've been saying how he might be a better play by plya guy anywyas same like mauro ranallo at showtime playing color behind gus johnson.
