Wlad is a much worse hugger than Ricky! At least Ricky still throws punches from the clinch. Wlad is the king of the Bear Hug/Deathlock!

At least jab-n-grab requires some skill (in the jabbing half of the equation), unlike Ricky Ruiz Jr's constant wild swing-n-cuddle.

At least Hatton still fights from the clinch though.

Uh, yeah that **** is not terribly effective (and is quite ugly to look at). Little Mr. T-Rex arms barely hurts people (that aren't shot Castillos) when he fully extends his itty bitty reach. In the pocket? Pfft...forget it.

Give me a jab machine any night.

What do you expect a guy with long arms like that, to do?

I'm sorry, but weren't there only like 10 or 12 clinches the whole fight; Ricky can do that in a round. Sultan didn't come forward enough for Wlad to initiate as many clinches as you suggest. It was a boring fight, but I thought Wlad relied more moving back to avoid punches instead of stepping in and clinching like he normally does. I'm a fan of both fighters, but Ricky really annoys the **** out of me sometimes, Wlad doesn't.

Uhhh I think you should go watch Hatton vs Urango. THere were probably as much clinches by Hatton in the first round then in all of the fight with Sultan. And since when does Hatton punch in the clinch?? He only punches when he grabs his opponent with his other arm which is ILLEGAL. And like the guy said above when was the last time Hatton jabbed? NEVER.
