I personally think Joseph Parkers career is over

His last three fights have been horrible opponents Shawdell Winters, Leapai, and Alexander Flores. His fight with Junior Fa has been postponed until next year because Fa's health is terrible. There is a really decent paycheck for Fa if he makes it to the ring. But he has had chronic health problems. I think the scheduling may run turn out problematic for both fighters and I doubt it will go ahead. I don't really believe Parkers head is in the game, and hasn't been for a long time. I just have the feeling there is stuff going on outside the ring as well. I think he's done. Maybe he comes back in a couple of years for a fight or two, but I think that's it. Much like the other kiwi David Tua I think his prime will be wasted outside the ring.

His career was over when he fought afraid against AJ & got bullied with dirty tactics by Whyte

I'd prefer to wake up to Joe Parker in my stocking than Dereck Chisora.

You might be right speedbaggage but what problems outside of the ring do you refer to?

Joseph Parker is currently twenty eight years old. Unfortunately he has shown nothing new to his game for a while now.

I agree that his career is done for the most part however there is a little hope should he decide, as Fury did, to find a new team and learn, grow and develop more tools.

I don’t expect it however... thoughts?

What could he do, besides throwing more, that could help him over the next few years?

I'm just speculating because as much as he says he want's to box, he just isn't believable. That's what I mean by his head not being in the game. He is just paying lip service to it. I feel there must be other **** going on because his mind is not on boxing.

There is a case before NZ courts where the papers have said a sportsman who is a household name in New Zealand and sporting icon based in USA is involved with money laundering for gangs in a methamphetamine ring. They have name suppression and haven't been charged although the judge has said there is no question of their involvement. It is now going to the supreme court in New Zealand in a couple of months as to whether this sportsman can keep permanent name suppression. The list of NZ sportsmen that are household names and based in the US is a very short list.

He's really stagnated for a number of reasons people have mentioned. I was excited a handful of years ago by his athleticism and combination punching, It was really refreshing to see a heavyweight with those qualities, but it hasn't really carried over to better competition and actually looks worse now even when he's not fighting top ten opposition. Don't really have much optimism for him going forward.

A bit tenuous. Could be Mark Hunt too. He's a meth addict and gambling addict who loses all his cash regularly and fights in the USA where he's moderately well known.

Unlike Parker. He's unknown in the USA, not a name at all.

Hunt is based in Aussie. The paper didn't say known in the US.

But who knows, you could be right.

I like Parker, but he's lost the fighter's mentality after the two losses vs Joshua and Whyte. My personal opinion is that after the Whyte fight, he realised how little of animal he is. Whyte showed him what dirty boxing is and Parker tried to catch up with it in the next fight with low blows, getting more criticism than credit. I don't know if he will get the right spirit ever again. A new trainer could maybe do something about it.

Parker is young and experienced. He could take fights with fighters in quality of a Whyte, Chisora, Povetkin, Pulev, Ortiz etc, but to get another title fight, he needs to convince in two solid fights. Right now he's fighting some third class fighters, I think he's going the wrong way.
