I personally think Joseph Parkers career is over

It most definitely played a part but the bullying for me was more prevalent in the victory and the lack of knowing how to over come it

To be fair we all make assumptions

Its a forum where its every day practise

Your guilty too when you assume Parker will go on to bigger things etc,no?

It would be nice to see as he is decent enough fella who honestly offends no one and is a good sports man but I guess my assumption is its not going to happen esp with Barry and Coke head

Wasn't that for the Fury fight? Having said that, he must have been on some serious stuff after praising Ian John Lewis bein appointed for the Whyte fight.

No ,Higgins 100% argued about the ref being British fight week forcing the late change

Little did he know that Hearn has plenty of money behind him.

I’m a Parker fan, but it was not the ref who cost him that fight. When they did fight up close aj was getting the better of him. It was his lack of aggression that cost him.
If he just had some mongrel in him he would be hard to beat.

    Yes - agreed

Parker knows he should have been far more aggressive against AJ

I guess we'll agree to disagree there. Not saying that Parker would have won, but the ref certainly had a massive influence on what was happening up close as every time they'd look to trade, the ref would intervene. He was a disgrace. AJ was backpedaling in about round 5 or 6, Parker went to hunt him down, yet the ref went in to stop things randomly.

Also, the fight was much closer than the judges had it. I had AJ winning 116-112 with a swing round in round 8 which I gave to AJ. Another typical disgraceful Matchroom card as usual.

I thought he did pretty good against Whyte. That headbutt was pretty brutal & for it to be ruled a knock down was the losing of the fight. When he started to go after Whyte he looked great & if the round was 30 seconds longer he would have won.
I don’t think he is finished but he does need to up the aggression. A bit of Tua killer instinct would go a long way.

    True, Pip.

Parker needs a big comeback - and some real "mongrel" in his attitude.

    Yes - he is protected.

But still I'm sure Parker could have taken it to AJ more. He knows it....

He probably still has a career but not as a world champion so a difficult thing to mentally adjust to. Is hardly shameful to be top 20 in the entire world but can your ego handle it? The gatekeeper type role. Easier for a Chisora who never held a title. To be honest never thought of him as a world champ but technically and factually was
