I'd like to rewatch the fight myself. This was also Calzaghe's first fight in the US so he might have been overanxious. I think that Dawson and Pavlik can compete with Calzaghe.

Had a concert that conflicted and HAD 2 Go!! BTW? ANti-Flag ROCKS!!
I'm not generally into "punk" music. Yet those guy's have melody and rhythym so it isnt just SCREAMING and popped ear drums. They are also from Pittsburgh and ROCK ON my brothers:D Havent watched the fight yet:-( I think Clevelands the next SHOW!! High energy show coming at ya, heads UP!!!:happy

Yet, I picked wisely with my head on this fight. Hopkins has problems with guy's that can Box on elite level and move. Its when you try to go inside that Hopkins is a true MASTER OF THE DOMAIN.

Cant wait to catch up with the fight!

Indeed. I will suspend further judgement until his next fight. He was brilliant against Kessler and Lacy, so he deserves somewhat of a pass here.

I had the fight a draw.

Calzaghe drops P4P after this, Hopkins can only fight 6 rounds nowadays (and clinch for another 6).

The thing has, who really has looked good against Hopkins? Like people have already said, his style is very hard to look good against. It wasn't Joe's best performance, but the important thing is he got the win.

I had the fight close and agree that Bhop can only fight in spurts and has done for a number of years now. He fights very efficient and smart.

In a fight that many scored 1 point for Calzaghe, and many of them credible posters, how can you laugh at such a score?

I personally had it 115-113 Cal, and a lot of others only had it 115-112 Cal. A number of rounds were possible swing rounds, so giving the benefit of the doubt to Hops, and the scorecard looks very different.

Well . . . we are completely on the othersdie of the coin buddy :D

I picked Bhops vis SD but I was very impressed with JC. :yep

JC is in tip top condition on this fight. He got caught early and yet he was able to continue his pressure, he was never intimidated. He was very quick to cut off the ring that restricted Bhop's movement and made him look desperate at times because of his quick combinations. He was throwing leathers until the last second of the last round and was able to bring out Bhops out of his comfort zone.

That's a complete reversal of what I was expecting. JC made Bhops look bad.

You promised me Joe would win easily, he hardly won more convincingly than Taylor did, can you explain that? :yep
