Arguello did a similar thing in the 2nd Pryor fight, his mind was cashing cheques his body could used to have but now could no longer cash, he had nothing to offer, it happens, both guys will still go down as 2 of the bravest warriors in the entire history of the sport.

I agree, those exact 3 performances are IMO Morales best form post 122.

However, he NEVER produced a bad performance at 122 despite having more title fights there than at 126 & 130 + he did have performances at 122 on par with those 3 efforts.

    :good

Thank you Bill lol... This is the part that Popkins the clown will never understand as he has never entered a square ring. Great example too lol... After 3 fights, and losing the last two, to say EM quit against PAc in their final fight is comical to read. Literally he's right lol, but he's as wrong as wrong can be lol...

    Silly one this :

    Prime Manny = 140 / 7
Prime Morales = FW / SFW

Well, since you have revised your opinion about Barrera clearly beating Morales & Ive never shared that view anyway... I`ll say that the 26 yr old peak Barrera that Morales BEAT (oh yes :yep) is far superior than Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, DLH... **** even the versions of EM, JMM & MAB himself.

Morales on that night beat a fighter that Manny has never even been in with.

Compared to this version (or any version) of Pacquiao, Morales threw his punches more technically correct, had better fluidity & balance in his feet, better jab & was just an all round better boxer skillwise.

If there was a LWW or WW mirroring Morales of 122 lbs... by by Pacman, Erik is all wrong for Manny at his best, he can outbox him for the majority & can take Pac`s punch so that eliminates any chance of Pac saving it with one punch... Morales could handle him inside too.

    Thats my opinion :good

I agree. Both quit, no shame in either case IMO.

The best version of Pacquiao is superior IMO. Morales's defence was always a weakness, see the McCullough and Barrera 1 fights for evidence of this. Morales had a tough night with a McCullough standard fighter at 122, Pacquiao blows away far better fighters like Cotto despite being at a weight disadvantage. The Barrera of 2000 was not substantially better than he was in 2003, or Marquez was in 2004 or 2008. He was better, but not by much. Pac is faster, hits harder, has much better movement, a better defence, he just has that extra dimension that a solid, top class boxer-puncher like Morales lacks. That's why peak Pac of the moment is being spoken of a serious ATG, and peak Morales wasn't. Pac beats better fighters more emphatically than Morales ever did.

Pac is better now than ever before ... Nallege, how can you argue that his absolute prime is at 122?

Morales did not have a tough night with Wayne lol... PAst it EM beat a prime PAc and no amount of excuses will take that away from EM. Had EM been younger, he'd have beaten PAc every time they fought...

Prime for prime, Pac would decapitate EM. As much as I love the dude, EM cannot compete with prime Pac (post JMM II)

The only real argument you can make is that Pac belongs at 140. So if you remove the weight factor, it will not be close.
