No, not a similar debate, this debate:

How on earth does your brain get around this fact, and think this disgrace of an idea is actually viable?? :nut

I partly agree with you on weight (the differences are always overstated, going down in weight is far worse), the issue is Calzaghe is on another level to Mayweather in terms of skill, not just size mate.

Now this is a legitimate point to debate.

    Weights are completely overrated.
If weights were such a great issue then Butterbean and Valuev would be champions forever.

You drain Calzaghe down to 157 and watch Mayweather beat him half to death...:deal

    Let's get this right:

You think that Calzaghe and Mayweather can really have a fight?

If this ever happened Joe would win hands down. Because whatever anyone says Calzaghe was a great fighter, his worst enemy was himself in terms of ambition, if he had the desire to get out there more he would have such a better career. This is not like a Mayweather vs Bute/Froch etc fight

Also, what weight would you say this would have to happen at? 168? Because there is no way Calzaghe would be able to go down any further than that, just look at the Kessler photos to see what I mean, he look gaunt then, then he would be even worse now.

So anyways going on this basis that the fight is held at 168. PBF would have to weigh in at around 165-68, that is 11 pounds (at the very least) heavier than ever before. If he did that he would lose some of his speed, while facing someone that can throw 1,000 punches a fight, adapts quickly if a fight is not going his way, has a solid chin and is a naturally bigger man. Unless Calzaghe comes in weight drained like Oscar, there is no way Floyd can win, don't get me wrong I still think he would get some rounds, through pot-shoting and barrel rolling, but he is not winning the fight.

So taking all this into consideration, their would have to be a massive amount of money on the line for both fighters, will this fight make more money than the DLH v PBF fight? No, will it make more than a Pac Man v PBF fight? No? Will it make more than a Hatton v Hatton fight? Maybe...

So now we have a fight with a sure winner (unless he comes in badly weight drained) and not enough money in it?

The same thing that was said when Pacquiao vs De La Hoya was first discussed.

even if these guys did want to fight you basically looking at mayweather putting on 28 pounds as Calzaghe cant make anything less that the light heavyweight limit, considering floyd wont move up 14 pound to fight williams who he said is too big for him it would be very unlikely he would move up 28 pounds to fight someone who would have the major advantages at that weight level. your deluding yourself if you think this fight could ever happen

Dude, you have to be one f**king joke of a bad athlete (non-athlete) to keep spouting your idiocy.

Joe is PEDESTRIAN in comparison to Floyd's athleticism, talent, and attribute set. I've watched every single round of Joe's career as he came up and have gone to the same gym as Floyd for the past ten years. You are CLUELESS.:D
