I rate George Foreman as the fourth best heavy of all time.

    No, I´m suggesting that these guys plus Ali would beat ´74 Foreman. I don´t have a list, so I don´t know where I would rank him. He´s an atg though. No doubt.

    I could never see Tunney beating Foreman. Same applies to Holyfield. I rate Joe Louis as the second best of all time,but Foreman would be all wrong for him. Liston and Lewis would have good chances,but I'd still rate George as favourite against them.

    If we think with our heads and not our hearts we will actually realize that George Foreman actually beat VERY FEW great fighters.

    Frazier = great win
    Norton = good win (but he is overrated)
    Qawi = nothing spectacular at Heavyweight
    Cooney = OVERRATED
    Moorer = good win but was a lucky punch
    Chuvalo = It seems like everyone beat him

    Compare that to someone like Louis, Ali, Holyfield or Holmes at it makes Foreman look like a average fighter.

    I think that you're selling him short in some areas.. For example, writing off the Moorer win as being nothing more than a "lucky" punch, is an injustice. Foreman set that shot up beautifully, and was taking Moorer's best for 10 rounds, at age 45 and coming off of something like 16 months of inactivity... He made history with that win, and there are no if's and's or but's about it. You listed his victory over Frazier as being great, which is fine, but it was also one of the best single victories in the division's history, and certainly one of the most destructive of another all time great in his prime. He only fought Chuvalo with maybe 20 fights, yet became one of only two men to ever stop him.. Chuvalo was coming off a win over Quarry just a few months earlier as well..Norton was also a better win than you give credit for, and I think his victories over Lou Savarese, Alex Stewart and Pierre Coetzer eclipse those of Cooney and Qawi, as does the Lyle win...

    I agree that Foreman does NOT rate over the likes of Holmes, Louis, Ali or a few others, but he was a two time lineal champ who beat two undefeated champions who were either at or near prime, and the oldest man to ever recapture the title... He was stopped only once in 81 fights to an all time great... He has one of the highest win/KO ratios ever.. He was also an olympic gold medalist.. Foreman's career was far from that of an "average" fighter, regardless of who you size him up to....

    Oh ok, my bad. its just you said 7 then named 7 fighters with no Ali there. Obviously Ali had already beaten him so there was no need to mention him. I assumed it was some kinda list

    I don't even rate George in the top 10. His wins in his prime were devastating, but nothing to rate him top 10, and his second career he lost to a Evander and then of all people Tommy Morrison who outboxed him. The only reason he beat Moorer is because of Michael's bad chin and also you give a guy with George's power 3 title shots he should win one, and Michael was not a solid champ..

    I came on here just to see Foreman Hook's response. I'm not disappointed.

    What a character.

    Foreman is a hard fighter to rate, and one that can be expected to vary greatly from list to list due to the peaks and valleys that exist on his resume. Absolutely magnificent highs in his career, but also very low points.

    I personally rank him anywhere from 8-11. He may be a tad under rated.

    I personally have Foreman in my top ten but having him out of the top ten is far from being strange.

    Ali, Louis, Marciano, Lewis, are absolute givens over him. A well balanced argument doesn't exist that says differently. That puts Foreman at a best of 5th. But strong (very strong cases) can be made for Holmes, Liston, Tyson, Frazier, Johnson, Wills, Dempsey, and Holyfield to be ranked above him. I've also seen lists where Jeffries is ranked above him (I personally don't agree with them but a case can be made)

    That's 12 fighters I just named that all could be ranked over Foreman justifiably. 13 if Jeffries.
