I wanted Manny to win- im a big Manny fan, I watched the fight at a casino, surrounded by Philipinos who REALLY wanted Manny to win. So I was bias- I tried my darndest to give every close round to Manny, but could only give him 5, - max. Even in the close rounds, Manny might have landed the more powerful or heavier shot- but Marquez was controlling the movement in the ring, dictating where the fighters are moving- when they werent throwing- it was Marquez who was controlling the pace- i.e showing greater ring generalship.

I gave those close rounds to Marquez based off of body language also though- perhaps because Marquez looked like himself- and the best version- he looked comfortable- it gave the impression of confidence and success, Manny looked terrible , didnt fight like himself , didnt throw combinations or respond when he got hit- normally he gets tagged and fires back- he always gets the last word- this time he backed off!- as one writer said Marquez did Marquez, but Manny didnt do Manny.

in other words- I was rooting for Manny, but after the fight left disgusted that he d lost, then heard cheers from the toilet- came out and saw he d won- then i was even more disgusted. In my opinion- as long as the better man wins, then sports are all good- thats what sports are about- but the better man didnt win that night in my opinion.

Marquez voters dont have to justify their reason for his win, Pacquiao voters do- and very hard. thats the bottom line.

Pac won 2 rds clear no question.
JMM won 5 and basically swept the middle rds. Some give pac rd 6 for his late left hand despite JMM landing clean hard shots all round..

12-0 JMM.. and while you're at it, why not score all rounds 10-8.

I haven't re-watched the fight, I scored it by a point for JMM. I am a fan of Pacs and hate see how bad he looked or should I say how good JMM looked ( I like JMM as well, but not as big of a fan as Pac)

Compubox is not only prone to human error, its prone to human bias and payoffs.

No one can tell me that HBO or whoever hires these compubox counters whether it be by outright bias or plain just paying off the the person counting the punches, that they cant be directed and influenced into being charitable as to what is and is'nt a punch connected to a particular fighter.

For example, one could direct a specific person to count Pacquiao's punches because they know that particular person is liberal with how he dispenses connects.

......then on the flipside you could also direct for a particular counter who you know is stingy with what he considers connects and have him count punches for Marquez.

Compubox punchstat is just another bias judge judging what he considers punches.
There's nothing accurate or scientific about it, and yet play by play man Jim "Bozo" Lampley lives by those punchstat numbers.:nut
