That someone on this board suggested DLH should fight Daniel Santos for his last fight. I've thought about it for a while and have come to the conclusion it might be his best option. Granted, it won't make as much $$$ as a PAC "fight" but would still rake in considerable money from the Mexico-PR angle, and HBO could hype it up as Oscar fighting the guy who beat Margarito-absolving him somewhat in the eyes of dumber fans for not fighting Margarito himself. There is also a belt at stake, weight won't be a problem, and Santos doesn't represent the level of potential hurt for Oscar that Margarito does, if his goal is to avoid getting seriously hurt as he bows out like many say. Finally, given the two robberies he suffered (mosley II, trinidad) and the fact that it will be his last fight, I think the judges will lend him a helping hand and give him the win if it reaches the cards. Anyone else think this is his best choice? Thoughts?
The even dumber fan is the one who is calling for Oscar and Margarito to fight. Margarito should be fighting P.Williams. Not Oscar. And if Oscar were to fight Margarito it would be at 154. Margarito would not be facing a small Welter. Which is what he has been in there with most of his fights.
