I realise now that hatton is/was way overrated and is one-dimensional

Im a big Hatton fan but the short of it is that he lost to arguably the best technician of our era & theres no shame in that.
As has been said he had a wave of nationalistic & media support behind him & the stark reality is a very good but limited fighter was turned into a superman....!!!!! The thing is that almost all genuine boxing fans & this includes big Ricky supporters like myself , Knew that Floyd was simply to good to be sucked into anything that remotely gave Hatton a chance.
I take my Hat off Floyd , The man is remarkable & adaptable beyond anything else I imagined.

I expect to see Hatton even after his first loss to get called out at a ODH level, because Hatton has the most loyal and massive following in the boxing world. Any of the "big dogs" know if they can sign Hatton they will be fighting in a full house and get nice TV numbers to boot. One of the most impressive parts of the show was how the band and Hatton fans started back up their music as soon as Hatton got back to his feet. That's support you just don't see for hardly any sport, team, or sportsmen.

All of sports should envy Hatton for his fanbase.

Hah yeah I was thinking the same:huh
Maybe we can say that this wasn't the enormous, monstrous win for floyd that I (and maybe other people) thought it was right after he knocked hatton out.

I said this for weeks coming into the fignt but people wouldn't listen. You can't come in wide open squared up with no jab or guard and beat an elite defensive counter-puncher like PBF. Ricky's style is good when he faces people who stand in front but against an elite boxer like Money he was over his head. Ricky is a one-dimensional swarmer.:deal

Come on now.....Hatton fouled the living **** out of Tszyu which obviously affected the winning of the fight. (In Hatton winning)

Also Hatton was dropped by body punches and it got ruled unfairly a low blow.

P4P this was an enormous win for floyd,he just beat the best 154 had to offer, then he goes and beats the best 140 has to offer(please no one be ridiculous enough to say RH aint) now all floyd has to do is beat the best at 147 in cotto or williams, hopefully cotto!
all props to floyd,he made a great p4p inside brawler look average on the inside, but who hasn't he done that to!look at hatton's fight against eamon magee and you'll see he isn't one dimensional,he just isn't very often challenged in such a way that he needed to be something else, until pbf and he didnt have a hope after his head went in the 6th.

Haha well I don't know if you really said that, but good job if you predicted that. It's so easy to realise this AFTER the fight. But doing it BEFORE the fight deserves some props.

Yeah i said it many here will tell you that as well. I made a thread a few days before the fight stating that enough was enough and that people needed to realize that PBF was a stylistic nightmare for Hatton.:deal

And the ESB experts did not foresee this?

Hatton fought like he always fought, but almost nobody outside of the UK had seen him fight, despite their claims to the contrary.

It only serves to highlight their ignorance.

Hatton isn't purely one dimensional but he only had one way of winning this fight and thats what he tried to execute.

I agree with your second point but with your first one you are SO SO wrong it's unbelievable.

    Did hatton jabbed? No
    Did Hatten boxed? No
    Did Hatton countered? No
Did hatton make Floyd miss? No

He did one thing, run forward like it was the 60 m sprint.

If you still think that is not one dimensional then I have nothing more to say

    IN THIS FIGHT

Don't quote my post and then edit it to change the whole meaning.

As I say, the problem with a lot of these guys is that they do not know very much about Hatton, so they think that is a revelation when they talk of his fighting style.
