I realise now that hatton is/was way overrated and is one-dimensional

Stylistically Hatton had one shot at winning this fight and it didn't work. That doesn't make him one dimensional in general just that this fight required him to fight in a particular way. Against Mayweather there could never be a 'plan B' for Hatton, if the pressure didn't work then he was screwed, and thats what happened.

What's really one-dimensional is the Hatton hate threads on here. I give props to the thread starter for being unbiased/a fan of neither, but I don't necessarily agree. Bottom line, though: Anyone who knocks Hatton is also knocking Floyd by saying he chose to fight an easy-to-beat, one-dimensional opponent.

    Word up, TopDog.

That's precisely what Hatton hasn't done.

The only reason why some people thought Hatton could possibly win is because the media viewed it as a 50/50 match up. And then of course the media with there Mayweather hate. But any knowledgeable boxing fan knew Mayweather was simply skilled for Hatton.

yea i agree,he needs to do it all over again by beating witter, but he did beat an ATG in tszyu which did show he was the best the division had to offer!
do u really think a witter or rees would stand 10rounds winning maybe 3 along the way against pbf?

For one time in my life I agree with you, and I feel dirty because of it.

Hatton is very good, proably the best light welter in the world, or at least top 3, and Floyd KO'd him, something even heavy Floyd betters weren't expecting.

Floyd had one of the best victories of his career, not just for the name, but for the style.

People seem to think he spent the whole match holding Tszu. Give the guy a little credit. Heres a few highlights and a reminder.

The music sucks by the way.

Witter might make Floyd think a bit and might, at a push, go the distance. Probably not though.

If you take an old, semi-retired Tszyu out of Hatton's record there really isn't that much left.

    Hatton's top 5 bouts:

    Floyd. Lost badly
    Tszyu. Old
    Collazo. Dubious victory
    Castillo. Shot, blown-up lightweight
Maussa. Lost two of his previous five fights

    After that...who? Urango?

There's no meat on his record, we really don't know how good Hatton is at 140.

Calzaghe has plenty of good wins on his record and totally cleaned his division out.

If Hatton faces and beats Paulie and (especially) Witter he'll get massive respect from me.

Calzaghes resume as regards to real quality boxers is very weak nobody can deny that.

As far as your comment about cleaning out the division goes.

Hatton has been linear champion at 140 for over 2 years.
Calzaghe has been linear champion at 168 for over 1 year.

Hattons resume is better then Joes.

You cant have it both ways. If you Criticise Hattons resume you have to criticise Calzaghes even more so.
