Last time Hatton did it, on HBO no less, Floyd took him up on the challenge.

Next time Margo defends, since Oscar would rather take on a LIGHTWEIGHT moving up, then Antonio should call out Floyd just like Hatton did.

The money will be there and the motivation for Floyd.

Now THAT would be worth the 59.95.

Um, I think he is retired for good and Margarito already challenged him so I dont see it happening.

The difference IMO is that PBF knew that he would beat Hatton's ass and take very little to no damage in the process. With Margo he knows that even if he wins (and stylewise he has a great chance of winning) he will likely at some point in the fight have to eat some vicious body work that will do long term internal damage that will stay with him long after he truly is retired. Win or lose, Margo will take a piece of you with him and thats one of the main reasons so many people avoid him. :bbb

"keeps", did Margo call him out recently and i missed it? If he was serious about it he would have called him out after the Cotto fight.

Margo is a practical guy though, he will look at the solid possibilities ahead - active fighters in the division.

Jezz :patsch can you over hype margarito's body punching any more then usual. The man is human not super human .. and no one has ever suffered long term effect from a body punch not even from the best body puncher in the sport of boxing.

If Margo wins a rematch with Williams, and becomes the undisputed #1 at WW, i think the clamour for a Mayweather fight will bring him out of retirement. Heck, Mayweather might not even have ever had any intention of retirement, he could just be waiting until the demand for him to return reaches fever pitch before he cashes in.

But whatever it is, I don't believe Mayweather is done with boxing just yet.

    That's actually spot on.

Hatton was no physical threat. You telling me the Hatton that the Hatton that fought Collazo was an iron fisted intimidator ala Margaritto?

There are a few fighters that have suffered permanent damage from body punching, please see Ken Buchanan after Duran go a hold of him. Still I don't think that is what Floyd is afraid of. Mayweather lacks the pop to keep Margarito off of him, and he knows he will be hit as well. If there is any chance of losing, do you think Floyd would risk it?

You're saying that the same Hatton that fought Collazo is the same one that fought Mayweather?, you must be stupid to think that Hatton went through the same training camp for Collazo as he did for Mayweather.

    :rofl

    Making excuses aren't we?

Why don't you face reality and realize that Hatton is no elite 147lber.

You have NO IDEA what you are talking about. I never said anything about "super human". Margo is clearly the bigger man and he fully commits to everything he throws to the body, and I'm sorry but if Emmanual Augustus and JLC could reach PBF's body consistantly, its very realistic to imagine Margo will land his fair share as well. As far as nobody ever suffering long term damage from body shots - go read some old interviews with guys who have shared the ring and gone rounds with Marciano / McCallum type body punchers. Marciano used to absolutely ruin people in the gym with body work ALL THE TIME. Internal ruptures / brusing / bleeding can leave scar tissue on your organs that does not always fully heal, just like when guys suffer cuts around the eyes that are never quite the same even after they have "healed". I'm not saying Margo is in the same league overall as those 2 HOF's I mentioned but he commits to the body with every shot like they did and he does it over and over and over.

Just started watching? Never been in the ring? I have been following boxing since the early 90's and I HAVE boxed before, AND I know very well what a well placed body shot can do to you, first hand. Go swallow PBF nuts some morel. You don't know jack ****. It's amazing how these huggers get when you even mention the possibilty of someone being able to trouble Floyd. Beleive me if this fight was as easy for PBF as you would like to beleive, he would have taken that "easy" $8 mill so fast. Again, I favor PBF in this one but he WILL take damage at some point if it ever happens.
