GGG turned pro at 24 y/o at 160, when he was 18 he was campaigning at LWW in the amateurs which is 141 and obviously same day weigh ins
Clenelo turned pro at 15 y/o at LWW (140 in the pros), not same day weigh ins, and was up at 147 by the time he was 17 at the very latest

Here's a 15 y/o Eurasian prince born to be a Eurasian King GGG

When Clenelo was 22-23 y/o campaigning down at 154 and Clenelo Weight aka 155 he was weighing 171-174 in the ring after rehydrating

    Golovkin 168 - Proksa 166
    Golovkin 170 - Macklin 170
    Golovkin 173 - Rubio 181
    Golovkin 167 - Rosado ?
    Golovkin 170 - Monroe 172
    Golovkin 170 - Lemieux 175
    Golovkin 171 - Wade 175
Golovkin - Brook ? (not sure but Golovkin weighed 167.8 for the IBF's same day weigh in the morning of the fight and Brook was 168)

Golovkin 170 - Jacobs ? Jacobs was 176 at 8am the morning of the fight and even bigger by the time they climbed in the ring but refused to step on the scales for HBO's unofficial fight night weigh in

    GGG 173 - Vanes 170

Clenelo obviously was coming in significantly heavier at 160-175 than he was a 154 because he transformed from Canelo to Hulknelo aka Clenelo after he jousted all those PEDs in his ass to try and even up the odds against an old past prime GGG and he would've had a significant weight advantage in both I & II if not III too

    Don’t twist my words

Many fighters have stayed at one weight due to their dominance there

The idea that everyone can move up in weight several times is stupid and I’m tired of hearing it

Ggg is a good fighter but would've have been taken apart by ward if he had balls and fought him. With that said he's borderline hof level.

How about moving up just one weight, though?

He seemed to have no problem placing himself at a disadvantage by allowing Canelo to age him out, so why wouldn't he challenge himself by moving up a few pounds?

He shouldn't be viewed in the same class that other great fighters who tested themselves at higher weights did... and you know what?

    He isn't.

He has to be content with that... but you look up and he's still trying to fight, so maybe he isn't.

You know who didn't chicken out - Canelo!! Big Red stepped up to the plate and hit a home run 3x, dethroned 3G, turned GGG into a chicken. Turned the boogeyman into a scared jabber in the rematch and turned him into a gunshy punching bag last September. :deal:

One thing's for sure CJ - GGG wanted no part of a firefight with Canelo. GGG was all bark no bite when it came to Fighting Mexican style. GGG turned into a scared little boy by the end of the trilogy.

You mean 2019 against jacobs? On DAZN they didn't show fight night weights. Hbo stopped doing fight night weights right about the time this Canelo avoiding GGG tell a later date thing was going down. When Canelo's people were claiming Canelo needed time to grow into the weight, fight night weights were no longer shown at least for Canelo. When Canelo fought Trout his fight weight was 174lbs. The most GGG ever weighed on fight night as a middleweight was 173lbs. He mostly weighed 170lbs.
