I agree. I hope he doesnt stay too long, I hate seeing RJJ being a shell of a shell of himself. Hopefully Floyd doesnt stick around too long. I cant think of another 36 year old boxer that was still going strong with that type of style. You had fighters who were champions and such. But not many that were maintaining their speed and reflexes the way he has. If he sticks around long enough he will lose. Its inevitable. Theres no one who can add anything to his resume right now to be honest. There was Pac. But he's a washed up shell of himself now so whats the point?
Word. I'm telling you one of these young guns will catch him slipping especially if he decides he wants to fight even after his showtime deal is over. What I will say is that he definitely doesnt have the body or the physique of a 36 year old. Ray Leonard, Ali, Tyson. ALL WASHED UP by the time they were that age. Mainly because of the damage and the drug abuse (For Leonard and Tyson). Floyd doesnt drink, smoke, nothing. So his 36 year old body has less mileage on it then a normal 36 year old. Add that to the fact that he didnt even take punishment like that over the years. and he might have the body equivalent to one that a 29/30 year old man would have. But I'd like to see him cash out these next to fights. He's giving fans enough masterclasses over the years. He deserves to cash out with some easy fights. The same way everyone else did. Except he'll be able to cash out #1 P4P Lineal 147 and 154 :happy
In December 2007, in an article by Steve Bunce, Mayweather stated: I'm a professional fighter and like most professional fighters I have had difficulties with my hands in the past . . . . I have invested in the latest technology to help me prepare for fights and so far all is well. But, my body is most definitely sending me signals that time is running out. I've had boxing gloves on since before I could walk and been in gyms all of my life. The end is getting closer for Floyd Mayweather . . . My doctor thinks I shouldnt be fighting too much more. My bodys tearing down. My left hand is tearing down. And I never used to have hand problems until it started happening later in my career as a professional. Now my right hand, my elbow, my back . . . The s*** goes on and on. Its nerve wracking Just one more fight and thats it . . . People have talked bad about me, said I didnt fight anybody, but Ive done all I can . . . I never felt pain like that before . . . Ive accomplished what I set out to do. No man can do more . . .
I would like to see him hang the gloves up soon. He has all the money he will ever need and is old by boxing standards. The time has passed for him to fight the tough fights. He has a decent resume, didn't always fight the best... but what fighter does nowadays? He should enjoy life and his health. After that last monster PPV it will be hard to top that. There is no one realistic to fight that he will get any credit for beating. Floyd relies on his reflexes and at his age he is more likely to end up like Rjj than Bhop. Obviously Floyds fundamentals are superior to Rjj but he is still fast twitch dependant.
Anything can happen in boxing. NO one can beat father time. It's only a matter of time until he completely fades. I don't want to see that happen.
Don't worry I'm still not at your level. 614 in 3 years and stalking daily. You should be arrested for your lack of usefulness to society.
I don't know how Golovkin can come down to 154. Golovkin did say the he would go up to 168 in the future. Golovkin is trying to get fights with the other champions, Martinez and Quillin for example.................Why not?
