The only round I'd fault Cortez was the 3rd. Otherwise he was doing a good job in all the other rounds.

I suppose the Brits feel that the ref doing the Kostya fight was a fair and proper ref.:patsch

One of the keys to beating Floyd is to not give him too much time think or outthink you, Hatton at times done this well at times in the first half of the fight, but when he started to give the pot shoter time to think/react, and gave him some space/room Floyd started to pick Hatton off with ease.

You don't think DLH is going to allow Hatton too torpedo his re-match with Floyd:nono If only he'd known that Floyd would do that himself, Cortez was well out of charecter in that fight & under instructions regardless of DLH's over the top protests from his seat during the fight:yep But i don't think for a moment it really would have made any difference to the outcome.

I was at the fight & looking at the screen between rounds watching the HBO playback it just showed Floyd using hattons face as a dart board. If Cortez had let the fight flow as in Leonard/Duran montreal style it may have been a bit more entertaining but in all honesty Hatton just seemed to be so one dimensional & did't have the feints or varity of punches to employ.

It was all relient on his left hook which was easily nuetralised by Mayweather, there was no adjustment period from Hatton who'd just hop skip & trundle on in a straight line all night & going by Mayweathers showing against Hatton then he's in serious deep water when he'd have Pacquiao coming at him from all angles:smoke

good point. One thing though is a lot of Floyd does is also reflex and instinct. Drilling counters over and over can make them reflexes

I noticed that a lot of the time, Floyd would makes sure he had one arm behind Hattons head or HIS head under Hattons arm. The ref HAS to break them in that situation. You can't punch a guys back.

I've always held the notion that if a fighter lowers his head for a defensive move he shouldn't complain when he gets bombed behind the head. Like a whining allen green after facing glen johnson.

Inside fouling should be dealt with firmly and points should be taken. Cortez was anything but "firm" in this fight.

Some of that first video is ridiculous. Just because Floyd came in low doesn't mean its OK for HAtton to wail away at his kidneys.

It was a dominant fight for Floyd. Hatton held and hit the whole fight, and Floyd still dominated him.

Floyd did it constantly, where was the warnings/point deductions?

Of course Ricky was going to get frustrated, he was facing 2 men in the ring and the thing that gets me is PBF didn't have to revert to that in order to beat Ricky, he's good enough.

But I posted it to have a laugh at Thoms expense claiming Cortez did a good job:lol:
