For the first four rounds Hatton boxed superbly.

    Then.........

    Well.............

    Hold
    Hold
    Hold

The point of the thread is......

    Should Ricky have been disqualified?

I remember watching this card. Watched the undercard and thought thank god the Matthew Hatton fight was over. I was well wrong

Hatton felt Urangos power early think it was a bodyshot not 100% sure and went into holding mode. This fight made me realise it was coming to an end for Hatton

havent watcehd it in ages but could have sword the holding didnt start till around the 8th round. DQ's for holding dont happen very often - Hopkins would have been Dq'd against Calzaghe is that was the case. Hatton took Urango to school for most of the fight but down to having a cold feeling a body shot whatever he had to hold a bit down the stretch

I voted YES - shame on me.

He wasn't even trying to fight from the midway point onwards. Granted he wasn't as blatant as Akinwande vs Lewis, but still it was shocking.

Ricky holding on for dear life from round 7. He should definitely have been disqualified. He was literally just walking forward and holding. Not even pretending to throw a punch.

  6. where is the fight, i've looked on Youtube and it's not there

    Andre Ward?
Constant holding??? That was a clinc. Ward showed everything bar KO power in that fight it was actually a bit boring to watch because Miranda couldnt do anything bar throw wild right hands. I wouldnt say he held on much at all only when he didnt have room to work and that wasnt often

Well I've just watched 7,8 and 9 in case my memory was playing tricks but I can't seem to find Hatton holding on for dear life or not throwing punches.

I've only seen this fight twice. Once live trying not to fall asleep and then the next day and not seen it since.

From what I remember it was throw one punch and hold for most of the fight and I was surprised the referee didn't warn Hatton or dock him a point when it got ridiculous later in the fight.

    Awful fight to watch.

The fight involving his joke of a brother was even worse.

Why do they give him airtime?

Oh dear, last week it was 'Should Ricky have been disqualified against Tsyu' and this week Urango.

Hmm disqualify Hopkins for foul play against Calzaghe next?

    Benn for rabbit punching Mcllelan?

Cotto for Low Blows on Judah?

How 'bout Witter for putting on negative displays....

this was one of the most boring Hatton fights, and that's saying something.
    Mike is right.
When it gets to the point a guy is just bustling in and grabbing and holding, then he should be DQ'd and Hatton should've been. This went beyond the usual Hatton hook n hold and dirty tactics.

He couldn't take Urango's power and so ran and hugged like a *****.

its amazing how people see hatton holding on and not the other fellow, they were both holding, watch ther fight but this time watch urango, urango was holding on just as much,in fact all through the fight he was holding on as much.

when i 1st watch the fight i thought hatton held on a lot after he got caught with the shot to the gut in the 6th,but thanks to this thread i watched it again and urango was holding just as much.

just another thought as well, how long have you lot watched boxing, watch ali, tyson, mayweather **** me,all boxers hold on when they a bit knackered, get them hatton hating specks off will ya all:good
