From what I saw Pacquiao is to fast for Barrera to out box for 12 rounds
I think that Barrera would be beter off with a agresive stratigy. Go after Paquaio's body hope to slow him down and hope not to get caught comeing in.
I think he has to go almost exclusvly to the body for the first four rounds. This will be very risky manly for two reasons the first is Pacquiao. Barrera will have to rely on movement and timeing to avoide being hit. I'm also sure that Pacquiao will land punches if Barrera dos use this stratitgy. The second risk factor is the judges. Body punching is not allways as aprechiated as head punching. Barreara may have to give away the first four rounds on the cards. On the other hand the judges might reward him for his agresiveness.
From the fith round on Barrera needs to mix the agresive style (with more head shots) and a boxing style (he has a 3 inch reach advantage) to keep Pacquaio guessing.

It is defently a risky stratagy but I don't think Barrera realy has much of a choice.

Or Barrera can stay on the outside and counter Pacquiao with jabs and straights whenever he saw Pac moving forward or trying to get his right jab going, and keep checking for the feints as the right hook comes behind them. He needs to use the JMM/EM strategy of counterpunching and moving, and slowing down the pace and add his own ability to the mix, he already has great footwork and doesn't need to be on the backfoot all the time to win this fight. IMO.

Wich ever stratigy Barrera uses he has to be perfect at it.

Body punching, low blows and headbutts would stop him.

It would boil down to how his stamina can hold up versus the onslaught of PAc.

His last fight with JMM it showed there, as he was obviously tiring late in the rounds (due to wear and tear, and due to JMM's hard punches as well).

With Pac, it would be 12 rounds of pure atatck from Pac, and can MAB hold off his aggressiveness?

MAB clearly won over Juarez because the latter was a sitting duck who was waiting for his target to engage him in a slugfest.

With Pac, he is the one who will stalk you, and will keep you busy and on the defensive end every minute of the fight. A nightmare for an old man.

Well, that is how i see it.

All MAB has to do is what JMM did in the second half of his Pac fight. Let Pacman lead, avoid the left, and counter hard.

I agree. Pac's most dangerous punch is the straight left, MAB needs to get in close and stay in close were I think he can hold his own with his short hooks. MAB is going to have to be in great condition, because he was overwhelmed not only by PAC's speed and power but by his workrate as well.

mab has to try to avoid that right hook counter too. there's a big difference between the pac of today and the pac that jmm fought more than 3 years ago.

I think Barrera tried that already when they fought, only that strategy resulted into desperation that went into a deliberate headbutt instead. Noticeably, Marco did it twice or more but was warned by the ref on the last.

Barrera leaves himself open for the straight left damn near everytime he throws a punch. Stylistically, not a good matchup for him.

    Is Roach still Pacquaio's trainer?
