Sure, he's an incredibly gifted fighter. But let's be honest, about every conceivable advantage was his in this fight. He SHOULD'VE looked incredibly gifted.

    Bingo!

I took a look at the Judah fight the other day seeing that he like Pacquiao is a southpaw, and Judah did have some success against Mayweather.......and you're absolutely correct.....Mayweather stalked Judah the whole fight (which is why Mayweather got hit with some Judah lead shots more frequently than the norm for him.)

Mayweather was the aggressor and stalked the whole fight, has he ever done that other than Judah?:yikes

Against Judah, it was a chess match the whole way through......thats not something that Pacquiao is going to be succesful at against Mayweather......and I'll add that Judah has a comparable reach advantage to Mayweather's, boxrec list Judah's reach advantage the same as Mayweather's 72".....and lists both Pacquiao's and Marquez' reach at 67".

.....the Mayweather type of defense where he shoulder rolls and pulls his head far back is something that is much more succeful against fighters that lack reach.

No fighter on earth would have looked that smooth against Marquez. Not even Pacquiao.

  5. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. It doesn't matter. He connected with a scoring punch and Mayweather's glove touched the canvas. Simple.

If the saw that Zab stepped on floyds foot as is what happened, he was right not to call it a knockdown. sO really all you are left with is a scoring punch. Which yeah is exciting every time someone manages to hit Floyd.

Did Mayweather not fight tall vs JMM?

Most of the fight had Mayweather pulling back with his upperbody and head stretched as far back as he could take it......thats how the Klitchko bros. play defense, and thats fighting tall.

  9. Dunno about exciting. Definitely interesting. Personally, I think that Judah early in a fight is an incredibly dangerous and slick guy, so theres definitely no shame in getting hit buy him. Its just that I rekon you can expect PAC to bring the same but get stronger as the fight goes on. That's pretty much all I got to say on it. Hopefully we can see the fight to see if im wrong/right. :bbb:rasta

MEANS SOMETHING TO THE GUY AT THE END OF THE PUNCH WHO KEEPS GETTING HIT AND CAN'T FIND HIS OPPONENT CUZ HE'S TOO SLICK....**** PUNCH STATS MEAN EVERYTHING IN THE RING...IF I HIT U MORE THAN U HIT ME THAN TO THE JUDGES I AM SCORING POINTS....THE PUNCH STATS THEMSELVES MIGHT MEAN **** BUT THEY COUNT THE PUNCHES EFFECTIVLEY AND GIVE A DECENT LOOK AT WHO IS LANDING ON WHO AND WHO IS MAKING WHO MISS....:deal

  11. lol. So you think Calzaghe pwned Hopkins then right? Right?

nope...i actually like BHOP and I CANNOT ****IN STAND JOE C....I HAD THAT FIGHT 7-5 IN FAVOR OF JOE....BHOP HAD THE KNOCKDOWN SO I GAVE HIM THAT POINT 114-113 JOE C...I CANT STAND JOE THOUGH BUT I WONT GET INTO THAT CUZ THIS THREAD NOT ABOUT JOE...

IM JUSS SAYIN THAT IF YOU EVER BEEN IN A RING ITS NOT FUN TO GET HIT EVEN BY "SOFT" PUNCHES...JUSS CUZ FLOYD DON'T ALWAYS HIT WITH POWER DONT MEAN THOSE SOFT JABS TO THE BODY AND STRAIGHT RIGHT HAND LEADS DONT **** WITH HIS OPPONENTS MIND SET...THROWING THOSE AND CONNECTING WHILE AN OPPONENT IS COMING FORWARD BREAKS HIS OPPONENTS WILL...**** JUST LOOK AT OSCAR....ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY HE LOST CUZ HE DIDNT THROW HIS JAB...I HAD OSCAR WINNING BY THE 5TH ROUND...ITS CLEAR TO ME THAT OSCAR QUIT THROWING THE JAB CUZ FLOYD KEPT COMING OVER IT WITH A PULL COUNTER....****, THAT PUNCH AT THE END OF THE 10TH ROUND WAS NICE....U DONT NEEDA HIT WITH A LOT OF POWER WHEN UR OPPONENET DOESN'T SEE UR PUNCH COMING EITHER..

  13. Any reason for the caps? lol
I take your point about light punching accumulating damage. The prob with punch stats for me is they dont even accurately reflect what landed. Its just some TV bozos pushing a buzzer when they think a punch has landed, like you saw in the Calzaghe V Hopkins fight. Glances, armshots and flush jabs all get merged into the same catagory. Silly metric. This wasnt the way it was with Judah/Floyd I know that, cause niether of them have big work rates. Judah was trying to counter mostly himself that fight, and was very successful for the first 5 rounds.

Judah was successful in 3 of the first 4 rounds...Watched that fight not that long ago...The caps juss gets my point out more it seems...get more responses....

I see Floyd fighting a lot the way he did against Juan though....He can fight tall against Manny especially with the reach advantage...He'll be fighting a different style but Floyd says he can adapt to any fighter and he hasn't shown me anything to suggest he's wrong....

When analyzing Floyd-JMM in comparison with Floyd-Pac I think fans overestimate the fact that Pac is a different style...THEY ARE RIGHT WHEN THEY SAY THIS, YES! Pac and JMM have very contrasting styles thus why we saw the 2 great fights we did...HOWEVER-FLOYD KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT TALL....FIGHTING A TALLER MAN, ESPECIALLY A TALLER MAN THAT KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT TALL AND IS "LONGER" THAN HIS OPPONENT IS VERY DIFFICULT..

    PAC ARM LENGTH 67

    FLOYD ARM LENGTH 72

THIS ADVANTAGE DONT MEAN **** IF YOU HAVE A FIGHTER THAT DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT...FLOYD KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT TALL THOUGH

Which is the main reason Mayweather does'nt and will never want any part of Paul Williams........

.....Mayweather's defense would be null and void trying to contort and pull his head away from William's reach!:deal:yep
