I rewatched Teo vs Loma and was shocked at how one sided it was.

Lopez won. Loma was too afraid of the counter punch and power so he gave away the first 6 rounds. It was close but Loma lost it his fault

i had it 6-6, but the eye test suggests that 7-11 were massive loma blowouts compared to the 1-6 rounds that teo won. most hits were on the guard. Meanwhile loma destroyed lopez in the latter stages. Even loma himself admits he lost round 12, that was the only "contested" round that teo convincingly won. When i mean contested i mean both guys were actually going at it. While i had it 6-6, i wasnt mad with the decision to give the W to teo. We cannot punish teo for loma's inactivity, that was on the ukranian. But to suggest it was 9-3 fight is utter insanity. teo looked like a loma's toy when he turned it on, and apart from the 12th, there was not a single moment of the fight that teo looked dominant against loma.

Then theres the rematch... while teo has every right to deny loma a rematch since loma might not have given him one as well, the way teo conducts himself with all that bravado and fake toughness, yet he wont even consider a loma rematch speaks volumes. Guys with egos like him are usually those who are willing to give rematches. Especially in a fight where he won, but he didnt look like the better man. Youd think hed want to prove once and for all that he really did win it. But the fact that he is ducking is worth a thousand more words than his BS. He knows he didnt win convincingly and he knows if loma is given another chance he wont win.

Lopez outpunched Loma in 8 rounds, drew in 1, and was only outpunched in 3.

Lopez landed more power punches than Loma in every single round.

The only thing "6-6" about the fight is who landed more jabs. Statistically Lopez won or drew that fight from every angle, and when you look at overall statistics, it's a blowout. Who hurt who? Again, it's Lopez hurting Loma. So much so that the wily old veteran prevented a KO (or at least a KD) by headbutting Lopez.

115-113 Lomachenko. It was a close fight. Having rewatched it, i think we as boxing fans discounted loma's work with the jab. it was accurate and efficient. Loma also blocked a lot of punches. It looks clean from teo but loma's guard was pretty tight. Im not mad that teo won, i understand the judges giving teo the win, but to suggest that its close is absurd. Teo was hurt, he was staggered a couple of times, he looked dazed and confused after loma's flurries. But teo also hurt loma, in the end of one of the rounds he caught loma with a great body shot, and loma was definitely rocked in the 12th. i can understand a 115-113 teo or a 115-113 loma and everything in between, plus a draw. But anything more than that is definitely not how the fight went.

No, Loma did nothing for the first 6 rounds and Lopez scored to the body with no counters from Loma.

Well, Lopez lost definitely between 4 to 5 rounds. So that alone means it was NOT one sided. So this thread is on its face is absolutely ridiculous for making that claim. Now, when you actually examine each round closely, you come away with a slightly different picture. Of course this will fall on deaf ears for the TS and the rest of the Loma haters, but it doesn't make it any less accurate.

Several factors need to be taken into account as far as that match goes before reflexively praising Teo for some masterclass. Obviously Lomachenko had an injured shoulder before the match, that was so bad off, he had to get surgery on it afterward can you not process? What happens if Lomachenko goes all out early, starts fast, and then exacerbates the already existing injury and his corner has to pull him out? He loses by TKO, that's what happens. Also, Loma was taking on a far bigger fighter and easily the biggest puncher he's ever faced. So considering that he's injured and in with a young very eager very heavy handed lion, coming off of almost a year of inactivity he played it ultra safe. Also, he's a slow starter, in most of his fights, it usually takes him 3 to 4 rounds to download an opponent anyway.... so he decided to play it safe for a few rounds. Thinking he could close the gap in the second half and stop him. See, Loma is that talented, and he believed in his skillset so much, that he knew when he turned it on, he'd dominate with ease. Also, his dad was giving him those directions. So down the stretch, when he finally decided to turn it on. Arguably winning rounds 6 and 7 and easily winning 8 through 11. Yet another match where he managed to do enough to secure a draw, only in this one, he only really fought 6 ****ing rounds of it.

Also, it was FAR closer than the official ridiculously wide scorecards would have you believe, not only that, but the first half isn't nearly as dominant as most seem to think it was. Loma does deceptively well (while losing) in most of them, even though he barely threw a punch. Especially in the 2nd and 4th rounds. Sure Teo was pressing forward and throwing punches, but how many of them actually landed? Parried and blocked shots aren't scoring shots. In the 2nd, Teo won the first minute, the second minute nothing, then Loma won the last minute. Near even round, that could've gone either way. Same for the 4th. So an argument could easily be made that Loma did enough to skate by with a draw, or even a 115-113 type card.

Here's my card. Which is far more accurate than any of the gushing fanboys cards.

    Round 1 Lopez 10-9
Round 2 Lomachenko 10-9, very close
    Round 3 Lopez 10-9, close
    Round 4 Lopez 10-9, close
    Round 5 Lopez 10-9
Round 6 Lopez 10-9, very close
Round 7 Lopez 10-9, very close
    Round 8 Lomachenko 10-9
    Round 9 Lomachenko 10-9
    Round 10 Lomachenko 10-9
    Round 11 Lomachenko 10-9
    Round 12 Lopez 10-9

    115-113 Lopez

    Lopez won 3 with ease.
    Lomachenko won 4 with ease.
    The other 5 were close.

Not denying Lopez won, but with ease? **** off.

Even if Lomachenko had won the 12th he would still have lost on the judges' scorecards.

It's always annoyed me that somehow Weisfeld and that **** Lederman got off scot free with very little criticism for their scorecards, which were abominations. The fact Loma not only wouldn't have won had he taken the 12th, but need 4 more rounds on Steve's card, and 6 more on Lederman's. That's goddamn appalling.

Because your cards don’t reflect the statistical reality of the fight. You’re giving rounds to Loma where he was outpunched by more than two to one.

For example, in round two, which you gave to Loma, Loma landed five punches. Four power punches, and one jab. Lopez landed 11 punches, four jabs, and seven power punches. Neither fighter was hurt. Lopez clearly won the round.
