it wasn't THAT close. Good competitive fight, but a lot of the punches I thought Chino was landing weren't. He was very aggressive, but not really effective. Never had him hurt. Floyd landed the cleaner shots. 7-5 maybe 8-4 is accurate. I dont see how you can score that for Chino though. He was in a tough fight.
Agreed. I thought he did well. And it was close for a Floyd fight. But watching that fight out of the heat of the moment (no pun intended) you can really dissect it a bit more and Chino wasn't landing. Floyd landed the cleaner shots.
It's not about just clean shots It about effective aggression Cotto did very well but chino took it to another level No way Floyd won any of the early rounds except round two He turned it around but chino still did enough in my opinion At worst a draw I can see the argument of 115-114 either way though Las Vegas was never going to give maidana this win without a ko
What don't you understand about the adjective, Effective? In this instance it means landing clean shots while coming forward. If Floyd is making him miss most of his shots, then it is not being effective. Get it?
That's not how judges score it. You can give all you have, but ifyou keep missing or everything lands on the gloves, you're not winning the fight. Boxing IS all about landing clean shots!
I couldn't agree more chino wasn't landing clean that much. Pbf landed the cleaner harder shots and won the second half of the fight.
By most people's logic I've seen around here, the greatest boxer ever should just be someone who can throw constant punches for the whole fight regardless of effective punching. Have a good chin and be able to punch non-stop for every round. TBE.
