Beating a lw then calling out a shot Manny come on Spence jump up and take on ggg or clen boy you know like the Brits do
You really can anything you want if you're fighting a guy whos way smaller and not willing to take risks. He proved nothing.
People are not giving Spence enough credit for this win. He fought exactly the fight Mikey gave him. Mikey was not going to embarrass himself and neither was Spence. That means neither was going to take any more risk than they had to. Easy win for Spence.
That's why I dont want Spence to fight Manny because Manny is old. Yet they say manny can whoop Spence even today . Spence should just try to fight Porter ,or crawford if he can't get those fights move up in weight .
The fight went differently than I expected it to. Errol had respect for Mikey's power and counter punching ability in the earlier rounds. I think Errol clearly wanted to prove a point, that he could outbox and outsmart Mikey which he did. It reminds me of the Mayweather Pacquiao fight, how before the fight Freddy Roach kept taunting Mayweather and saying he didn't have any legs or stamina left, so Mayweather made it a point to use his legs for all 12 rounds just to prove the naysayers wrong. Spence showed he's more than a pressure fighter and KO artist. His detractors who were claiming Errol didn't have the "ring IQ" to outbox Mikey will have to take back what they said now.
I'm one of those guys that said Errol didn't have that type of I.Q it was amazing I hope he fights more like that again
You're absolutely right, check YouTube prediction threads, there's several boxers and people inside the sport who have followed Spence for years who've said he has way more tools than he's shown, he just hasn't had to. I personally thought Garcia was the more skilled boxer of the two but he clearly wasn't. Spence didn't win this fight on size and strength alone, he beat Garcia at every phase.
still can't do what brook did moving up a full two weights to fight the guy no one really wanted to fight to boil straight back down and defend against a top 3 ww
A few things this shows: 1. HOW GOOD IS BROOK!!! I have been proven right on that. I may be wrong on Spence, but oh boy am I right on Brook. It was indeed the eye all along. Anyone care to rethink who wins that rematch? Cause I know who'd win at 154. 2. It was dominant yes, but it was always going to be a mountain to overcome. I thought Mikey would box and move, but instead he chose to stand there and take shots. It doesn't matter how good spence was, nobody in their right mind does that when there's a huge height and reach advantage in play. He has to move around, step in and out. What was Mikey doing, it's as if he just gave up in round 1. 3. If he can't stop Garcia, then he's not going to stop Crawford. But I can definitely say for sure, it's a more competitive matchup than I thought it might be before this fight. Crawford is not clearly ahead of Spence, if he is ahead. 4. I did see a different Spence. I saw a more all-around version. I saw his boxing skills shown to be a bit better than we thought (Although you have to take into account the MASSIVE height and reach advantage he had), but at the same time...his power isn't all it's cracked up to be. We know where Spence stands now. He's good at everything but amazing at nothing.
