Marquez is a Great fighter. so is Pacquiao. but Marquez is the one being disrespected here throughout an underrated career. i had no allegiance between the two until Pac's fans began storming boxing boards, then I began to root for JMM to beat Pac just to get rid of them.

Jerry Roth has proven himself to be the most consistently sharp and accurate professional boxing judge in the world, and he scored the bout for Juan Manuel Marquez.

the majority of fans, the HEAVY majority of ringside media think Marquez won. in reply, Pac fans say: 2 official judges scored it for Pacquiao.

these are the same people who cry robbery all the time in decisions they dont like involving the same judges. even worse, they point to harold lederman. this is the same lederman that had calzaghe 117-11 over hop, pac 115-110 over jmm in the first fight (ludicrous!), paul williams 115-113 over quintana, and hatton ahead of mayweather at one point.

i exaggerate for comic effect, i thought the fanny-pack reference showed that. fanny-packers probably root for Malignaggi.

some intelligent fans score it for pacquiao, probably with sound reasoning, it's just rare compared to the intelligent fans who scored it for marquez.

    114-113 Marquez...

i am a big pac fan, and a filipino, and i scored the fight for marquez. I still think pac won because of the KD, if not for that, he would have been the clear winner.

whenever there are threads like this, there will always be haters, the '******* this, ******* that' kind of haters.. its getting boring

    :yep

They even put up polls every once in a while asking who won.......

......and like you said, everyone else has moved on, while the ******* still dominate threads like this.......

.....of course a poll now will show that Pac has the support of the *******, and will win the poll, with very few knowleadgeable posters clicking on old news.

If anyone wants to find opinions on the JMM-Pac rematch.....look back to the old threads dated March 2008......JMM dominates those polls.:yep

.....and you're right jjax, the *******s come into these new threads complaining about rehashed threads, but it is they who dominate and click on to them.

    Move on *******s!:yep

I started a thread for my scorecard months ago. I had been bothered by this result for a long time, especially since I lost a potential payout of over $1000 had Marquez been given the SD, so I watched it with no volume, no rewind or slow motion, and scored it round by round. The idea was to put myself in the position of the judges.

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112025

This is the most important comment: I know that's unfair, and that Pacquiao is a humble, charitable person who I should be rooting for. I thought Marquez was robbed in the rematch, but after scoring it with the volume off, and with no instant replay or rewinding or slow-mo, it was closer than I recalled... Note that Marquez suffered greatly from an unintentional headbutt, which caused a horrible cut. But also note that Marquez landed significantly more low blows throughout the bout.

To a degree, I'm having fun and exaggerating the arguments. The only time I made it personal was when fans starting to describe Pac's victory as "our" victory, and treating it as a personal accomplishment. I went off on a tangent there.

I really like Manny Pacquiao as a person, a philanthropist and a boxer. He's a great ambassador for the sport. I want to root for him, it's just so hard to ignore his rabid fanbase and the countless hangers-on he brings with him.

you're a stupid ass mother****er. money comes and goes. i lost well over 500$ on vasquez/marquez 3 'wont go the distance', yet i enjoy the bout regardless. i have been given gift decisions in my betting favour quite a few times before.

i played marquez +200 and maruez SD +1500, i let my plays be known before the bout starts. that doesn't make me a biased turd like you.

I felt the same about round 6. Round 7 was super close to me and I was surprised all 3 gave it to Marquez as well.
