I would suggest Pavlik double jab, hook off the jab, setting up the right hand and land more to Taylor's body.

If i was Ozell Adams, i would tell JT to obssess about Pavlik's right hand and to move to his right. His biggest worry should be to avoid the right hand of Pavlik. That is his money shot. The constant jab or double jab followed by the right. Pavlik does not throw anything more than that. But he's so good at it.

I would also like to see JT try to box from the outside for 12 rounds. If he gets into a fight with Pavlik, he will come up short. There is really no other alternative than to use your superior raw talents and try to outbox this guy. If he gets too aggressive, he will eventually get caught again.

Hmmm...does someone really have skills if he is never using them against elite opponents? Taylor looks more fluid than Pavlik for sure...like Herbie Hide looked more fluid than Vitali Klitschko. But Pavlik is very effective with his style, it may not be pretty but he has mastered the eprfect style for his body type.

When Kelly is only throwing one jab at a time, he's not gonna connect with that right hand lead. But when he begins to throw his double or tripple jabs, then Taylor is going find it difficult to avoid his right hand lead. Taylor needs to be first at any cost, because he can't afford to have Pavlik get in his rythm again, because if he does, Taylor is getting knocked out another time.
Taylor need to set the tempo early, viciously jabbing Kelly and effectively going off first! If he can do this, he can hinder Kelly from getting that rythm going, and he'll win.

Now, saying this is harder than doing this, Jermain has got serious talent, but he doesn't seem adaptable or smart if you will. He will go out there and fight like he always does, he's gonna show his bad habits again and Pavlik will conquer, yet again.

Im gonna root for Jermain, because he's such a good guy, and I do wish him the best, but he's got a mountain to climb.

He should give Pavlik something new to think about, movement, smart movement.. strafe + 1-2 will work against Kelly. He should use angles and movement, thats my take on him winning. But he's a fighter, he's not a tactician.. so I predict pretty much the same outcome as the first fight.

As Emanuel Steward perfectly explained. JT is an instinctive fighter. He will heed the instructions of Steward maybe a few seconds into the round but as soon as he got hit, his instincts would take over.

I would call that being stupid. HA HA. But seriously, i think that is a perfectly explanation. He's got too much of the dog in him. He does not think. He simply reacts.

When you don't have the skills you gotta use your head and think of a way to overcome problems and weaknesses.

Taylor's problem is that he reacts to feints too much. Should he elect to deflect rather than slip jabs, he'll still fall pray to the traps Pavlik will set with his feints. I can easily picture Pavlik feinting to hook from the jab, then extend his long double jab.

We'll see, I don't think Taylor will have improved enough to avoid Pavlik driving him to the ropes.

    Pavlik KO 6

Every time I see KP signing something it is LEFT handed. I think his jab is under rated.

What bothered me about the Taylor KO is the way he crumpled so massively. I know he was caught with a great punch but it was like all the energy just suddenly left his body never to return, whereas Kelly takes too much punishment but keeps coming back(reminds me of Cotto)

Going to be a great fight, either fighter could win and it (edging towards Pavlik)will be an early KO. wish i could be there

Didn't you know? He's ambidextrous & a natural lefty. But he fight's orthodox. Thats why his jab is so good & its amazing that he has the control & power in that right hand of his.

Another reason why I like him so damn much.:D

And some people have the nerve to argue with the stoppage.
