The scene scored it a draw.. There's just too many Goons on this board who scored it For GGG by wide margins who DKSAB... Bottom line this fight was close and hard to judge so to The clowns who scored it wide to GGG , plz learn about the criteria in scoring.
Just watched the fight. I had Canelo winning early and late. Mid fight it was mostly GGG with a few rounds too close to call. 5-5-2 a draw. Great fight.
When a fight is competitive, there will always be a small minority taking the opposite view. The vast majority of the fans and media thought GGG won.That is all that matters
Never saw the fight until this morning and reading all of the hullabaloo regarding a robbery it wasn't what I expected to see. I had Golovkin winning by 3 rounds but I had 3 rounds even which is something I hate doing, give them to Alverez and it's a different story. Canelo surprised me he fought a great fight and has gone up in my estimation, but Triple G won that fight.
You don't score body language. That's been in my head and it's part of why people think GGG won. If you huff and puff but land cleaner punches, chances are you're doing okay.
Just rescored the fight 116-112. The two rds I gave to GGG were close rounds that I think he won after reviewing the fight. He finished very strong as well, disappointed he didn't get the nod.
Fair enough. On a second watch, Golovkin finished stronger than what I recalled as well. 116-112 seems to be the most common scoring and likely the most accurate. I think people also need to adjust their expectations of Golovkin, he's 35 now, and like I was telling posters here before the fight, don't be fooled by Canelo's Light Middle past, he's not going to be some tiny guy in there to be squashed. He's going to be heavier and strong enough to earn Golovkin's respect. I got laughed at. I think everyone is just really outraged by the 118-110, it's just a smack in the face.
