    Zab has proven that he can't be successful amongst this current crop of welters. Zab himself knows this and that's why he's moving back to 140. Berto on the other hand is still an unknown in the sense that he has yet to fight an elite welter. The fact that he is unbeaten and has won spectacularly against lesser opponents is why he should be ranked higher than a guy who has repeatedly failed against top competition.

    Berto = potential
    Zab = failed potential

    i totally disagree, until berto test himself against top level he shouldnt get ranked higher than zab, even quintana should be ranked higher than him he beat williams and will have beaten every bum that berto has been fed so far

    It's a moot point now when it comes to Zab because of his intention to move into another division. I will agree that Quintana should probably be ranked higher than Berto based on the fact that he is 1-1 with PTP who I believe to be the best 147 lber.

    I don't see it, different stlyes BUT Lacy has fought much better opposition so far but I think Berto can beat anyone at 147, now that PBF and PW are gone.

    I think the poster means that so far, to this point, Berto is another hype job. I tend to agree. Too many people here take HBO for the one and only truth. Steward went as far as to compare Berto's speed to Leonard...

    Berto did handle Forbes pretty well and Forbes is a tough guy, but he was supposed to do just that. Does anyone think Collazo has enough left to test Berto?

    I don't. Berto's shown good speed along with good boxing skills. I just wish we'd see him in there with a top 10 welterweight in the near future.

    Berto is a good young fighter.Just give him time to hone is craft and fight quality opponents before we start bashing the guy.Remember to make a successful star you have to build him up.Thats what his promoter is doing and decide whens the right time for him to take on elite fighters.I believe Berto will give anyone hell since he has quick hands,power and alright defense but can use some work.I just believe he gets wild sometimes and leaves himself open to be counter.But overall he will do good just give him time.Lacy is a good fighter but what happen was he fought a bunch of nobodies and thats what hurt him in the calzaghe fight because he was very inexperience.

    Completely ridiculous. Sugar Shane Mosley compared Berto to a younger version of himself after the Mayorga fight. Lacy is closer to Tyson of today!

    Berto may be overhyped but he also gets way too much criticism. His flaw is obviously a below average chin but other that I dont understand the complaints. Rivera, estrada, and forbes are not top 10 but they are solid tests for a ww. Now his next fight is against Collazo who is in the top 10. If he wins can you honestly put him lower than 5 or 6? I feel Marg, PTP, and Clottey are easily above him. Cotto, unless he cannot recover mentally from that beating, is above him. That leaves Sugar Shane which we will see a week later if he truly still belongs among the tops of the division.
