Golovkin is really overrated and one of the most hyped paper champs in recent memory.

Never seen people so impressed with whooping on bums/journeymen

 

I like GGG a lot but you just can't say things like this. You need to earn the right to be mentioned with the greats and (for whatever reason) he isn't there yet. He's not close tbh.

Agree with this, mostly. I think that he's knocking on the door of greatness. If he can keep his current form together for another 12 fights or so - about 4 years, which is doable, and extends that 15 streak defense to 27, I'd say it would be indisputable he's an ATG.

 

You hate on ggg so bad for one reason, his competition. You say go watch the great SRR, I totally agree, srr was an atg but his level of competition is pathetic compared to the one you hate on.

Hell, back then, lemieux would be considered a death sentence for anyone that dare to fight him. We are talking fighting at minimum monthly, most times weekly against booze baggers that smoke a pac a day. Yes, srr was great, much before his time, but talking about fighting 25 cans in a row, then someone good then 20 cans....

Of course watching SRR, himself in the ring, yes great.. but I dig deeper, I watch his opponents just as much as I watch him.

Now you're going to throw out a bunch of "names from way back " and think they're great fighters. It's clearly obvious you're only looking for great things from SRR who would beat 90% of his opponents while he's taking a nap
