Cotto, who has been criticized by everyone for his leaky defense, questionable chin and stamina, who has never really fought a pressure fighter off of his back foot, and who has never been in a bout with an opponent he knew he wouldnt be able to hurt, made Margarito miss badly and look like a fish out of water for about 6-7 rounds.

Everyone has been trying to pressure Floyd his entire career. Floyd has boxed off his back foot for most of his bouts since 135. Floyd has never been visibly tired in the ring. Floyd has never been down by his opponent's glove officially, although Judah caught him off balance and Floyd's glove DID touch the ground. Floyd has been fighting fighters he knew he couldnt KO for years now, although he'll take it if the opportunity comes.

Now if Cotto could outbox Margarito rather easily for 6 or 7, there is no way in hell that Floyd couldnt do the same for at least 9 or 10. He is infinitely better defensively. His footspeed is ungodly faster (which would be huge because Margarito still didnt cut the ring off efficiently). And ultimately, Floyd is much much much more comfortable BOXING than Cotto is.
