I see shades in Alexander of Pernell Whitaker

Even that Whitaker would have beaten DA decisively.

Alexander's a good fighter, but he has poor defense, variety, and he's really predictable. Can't fight inside for **** either.

 

That maybe the only similarity i see besides southpaw.

 

Hell no. First off, Alexander keeps his head in the same place when he swings. Alexander is basic with good hand and footspeed. Pernell was great and had borderline superhuman reflexes as well as flawless transition from offense to defense. Didn't have to look at a fighter to know they were swinging. Alexander is no where near that.

You might as well say you saw shades of Pernell in Zahir Raheem or anyone else who has handspeed and boxes defensively.

Alexander isn't even an A fighter in my book. He's not even on Dirrell's level.

The only thing I will say about DA, is that people are underestimating him vs Bradley in Jan.

Alexander has garbage defense...
