Of course. I mean Gomez wasnt a tomato can or anything that hany decent fighter could have beaten. I mean Margarito destroying a proven welterweight champ is not nearly as impressive as Cotto destroying a reality tv show contestant. I have never seen a one sided fight in my life. I mean Cotto puting on his Nike's for the last 2 rounds of his fight with Mosley is not nearly as prominent in my mind as beating up on a journeyman.

Like I said I was thoroughly impressed and am now a converted nuthugger. Cotto all the way. :dead

Gomez was game ... he just got out classed ... I can see him giving alot of fighters not as fast as Cotto some trouble.

He's not really on the same level as Margarito, whos best wins are over Cintron. Twice. Oh, and Clottey. Cintron himself has beaten nobody of note. Cotto's win over Mosley is far more significant than either. Cotto has also beaten Judah, a solid gatekeeper. Baring in mind Cotto is also undefeated, he would never lose to guys like Santos. Two undefeated guys always adds something to the occasion. So no, they are not on the same level. Cotto is in pole position

All i'm saying is that Cotto has no chance against PBF ... no way ... he not skilled enough ... you're talking about a 12 year vet who's seen everything under the sun.

    He's been roughed up
He's been swarmed w/ body shots
    He's been hit
    He's been pressured
    He's been boxed

When it comes down to it ... if Floyd makes it a thinking mans game ... Cotto won't last 6 rounds.

You make good points but lets throw the resume's out the window ... Margarito just beat a champion for his strap ... and Cotto won a vacant strap.

Margarito was a long reigning champion ... and regained a title

Margarito is a 2 time champion ... so is Cotto

This **** needs to stop. And I am a Floyd fan but a boxing fan. If you cant see Cotto has the TOOLS not saying he will definitely but he damn sure has the tools to beat Mayweather. I pick Floyd to come out on top but if he keeps inactive Cotto would edge him out. Floyd and his team are masters of coming up with a gameplan. Cotto and his squad do there homework as well. GREAT FIGHT. Maybe not as exciting as you would hope but it would be the best H2H match of skills for any of the current fighters out there now.

What does being game mean? Im willing to get my ass kicked on national tv? Come on. Gomez was not strong, not fast, he was no threat to anyone but a 50 year old Gatti. Imagine what Margarito would have down to that kid in 1 round. Cotto was toying with him. That was a disgrace for a so-called main event.

Well, resumes are fairly important when you are trying to analyze who is more deserving

I'd be happy to see Cotto - Margarito to settle it anyway. I would back Cotto to come through, and it would be a war.

so in your opinion who is more worthy right now as floyd's opponent? even a frustrated hatton lasted more than 6 rounds with floyd.

No more deserving but comparable as to being on the same level ... no where near the level of PBF.

:good Exactly. I don't know how someone can't see just how good Cotto is fighting right now. Mayweather/Cotto would be a very competitive fight. A guy like Cotto and a guy like Mayweather just aren't going to get blown out of the water.

He also got beat down and couldve been out of there in the 6th ... he couldn't adjust to Floyd's adjustments and his quick thinking was too much for Hatton. Straight up and down - no special effects ... you're going to get the same from Cotto ... he's not going to make Floyd turn it up a notch ... Floyd will make the fight look easy --

To answer you question ... Cotto ... but I can't see him winning ...

Yes sir ... but it also clouds the minds of Cotto fans and Floyd haters ... No one besides true boxing fans are going to see that for what it was.

Well, the logic is a bit off there. If you have to be Mayweather's level to get a shot at him there are no suitable opponents. He is p4p #1 remember...

Of the candidates, Cotto is clearly the fight most sane people want to see. He's young, hungry, he's a real welterweight, he's beaten the best competition and he's undefeated. Also an intriguing clash of styles. I don't know why Mayweather fans get upset about this. If Mayweather beat him, it would be his most meaningful win for a long time and would boost his ATG status. So it is in your interest for Cotto to look good, and for the fight to get made.
