Cottos wins @ 147lbs weighs far more than Floyds wins at 147.

 

He hurt his hand and if you seen that fight ... you wouldve seen that Floyd blew him out the frame with one hand.

 

who cares if floyd has been champ for 10 years. why do you keep insisting that everyone needs to know this. we are all boxing fans and are fully aware of this.

why does cotto need to fight better competition? are you kidding me. outside of margarito who is not better competitioin than Mosley, who does Cotto need to fight to prepare for floyd.

Remember, in order to prepare for a fighter like floyd, it's best to fight someone with similar traits as floyd. Cotto has already beaten boxers with speed. there is no one left with speed in the WW division for Cotto to face. Cotto beat the man who in most peoples eyes was the real threat to FLoyd, Mosley.

Outside of Margarito fans, no one believe Marg can beat Floyd. You dont think Margarito has a chance in hell against Floyd. so why should Cotto fight him. Is he going to help Cotto prepare for Floyd.

Please let us know who you think Cotto should fight that is "better competition" After you answer the question, please let us know how they are better than Mosley and also how they will help Cotto become more prepared for Floyd than he is now.

So again, why didnt he finish off Baldomir? You say he hurt his hand. If floyds are so brittle, then he stands even less of a chance to KO Cotto. And you really think he'd finish off Cotto faster than Hatton. If so, you are insane.

Mosley has no relevance in this discussion ... Mosley is past his prime and hasn't won anything significant since 00' -- he's only won a WW title once and hasn't won another since. Mayweather is not the kind of fighter who will refuse to fight someone because they're not really competition or don't truly deserve a shot at him. If he was, the DeLaHoya rematch wouldn't be in the works and the Hatton rematch wouldn't even be considered, especially since he knocked Hatton out. So to say Cotto shouldn't get an opportunity to prove himself against Mayweather simply because he allegedly has no chance is bulls--t.

Saying that Cotto still needs to prove himself and he doesn't deserve to fight Floyd yet is nonsense.
PBF is the #1 welterweight in the world, Cotto is #2. 99% of the boxing world will agree on this point.
Thus, a fight between the two of them makes total sense. If boxing wasn't so ****ed up, and there was one belt per division, and fighters didn't get to pick and choose who they fight, then this fight would have to happen very soon, or Floyd would be stripped.

Floyd is a great fighter, there's no doubt about that. And I think he probably beats Cotto. But, his fans are getting a little ridiculous when they place him atop this pedestal where he's too good to fight anyone.

 

Boinko, these people are crazy, particularly this Fitz character. Their points hold no water at all. I think they want Cotto to fight Margarito, Clottey, rematch Mosley, and rematch Quintana first. Only then, will he nearly deserve a fight with Floyd

I wouldnt care if PBF is black, white, rican, or blue.. What he has accomplished is nothing.. He has not proved his p4p status.. You say Cotto beats a past-prime fighter in Mosley, but thats exactly what PBF did with DLH.. Cotto wiped out Judah earlier than PBF could.. I would like to say that these two fighters fighter a similiar kind of game, but I would also have to say that Cotto is a much more powerful puncher, and perhaps a bit more accurate.. But I'm not all over Cotto's nuts just because I want to see Mayweather lose.. To me, Floyd has done nothing to prove that he is the best of the WW division.. He beat a tough fight in an past-prime DLH.. Ricky Hatton was overrated.. Baldomir gave him so much trouble.. Then he wants to get rematches against fighters he's already beaten? You say he wants the money.. Isnt he rich already? Whats a few less thousand dollars to fight someone who is actually a top WW contender? Go fight Cotto.. Floyd along with being fast is a slick, fast twitch reflexes, master boxer, with great defense ...

There isn't any fighter out here simular to Floyd so fighting fighters like Floyd is out of the question.
