I just hope we get to see Joyce against Fury, Joshua or Wilder before he gets too old. I think he gives all 3 problems
After being the operative word. Fury-Joyce becomes a bigger fight — an 'all-British' encounter for all the marbles — with Fury's acquisition of the 'Undisputed' kudos. Joyce, in the meantime, can perhaps register another impressive finish over another creditable name to capitalize on the increased industry acclaim and public interest aroused by his performance against Parker. For example, Otto Wallin would be an excellent selection, on account of the triangular intrigue he provides—were Joyce to crush Wallin, by contrast with Fury's more troubled distance victory over the Swede, it would certainly ramp up industry and public interest in Fury-Joyce. I personally find the tag of Undisputed something of a misnomer so long as there's a doubter as strong as Joyce still out there (here I am identifying J.J. as Fury's toughest fight a year in advance of his breakout victory over Parker), but that is how the Fury-Usyk bout is being billed. With that billing comes a ton of prestige and ballyhoo which parlays very nicely into a Fury-Joyce bout. Except the ones you really want to take seriously, because it suits you to do so, discernment be damned. I agree with your first point. He's absolutely giving Joe the big hype. 'He's coming for me, maybe he's the man who can beat the Gypsy King, we'll have to find out one of these days.' It's pretty transparent stuff. Fury and Warren have earmarked Joyce as a future opponent and the fight is being built. On your second point, see above.
Not a chance Fury fights Joyce if he becomes undisputed. With respect to Joyce he has about 200 fans who have followed him since WSOB. Not in a million years does he generate the sort of money required for a fight for undisputed. Fury's price tag will be in triple figures and you are looking at Joshua, Wilder (if they keep winning and winning well) or some sort of mega exhibition fight against Ngannou. There simple isn't any other fighters financially big enough.
I disagree. Times change, Joyce is gaining traction, just headlined PPV and destroyed a guy who had good visibility in the UK from his prior bouts with prominent names in Joshua and Whyte. It is a very promotable matchup, especially around a year from now if Joyce is able to capitalize on his momentum with another spectacular showing in the interim.
Joe's a great fighter but Fury beats him 10 out of 10 times. He simply does not have the variety or speed to trouble Fury who can adapt to any given situation. Not seen Fury gassed yet in any of his fights so no reason to think he would gas against Joyce. Joe will keep coming and Fury will keep running picking him off all night. Fury by towel stoppage or wide UD.
I can only see this fight happening if it happens BEFORE Fury v Usyk. Pretty sure he would retire at the top unless there was a mega money fight available.
We'll see how it plays out, but I don't think retirement is calling him in the next year. The itch to keep fighting will still be there after Usyk, and Joyce will be one of the two most viable dance partners out there for him (barring a surprise defeat).
Fury is not some kind of robot. You don't need to have every attribute to beat him. Fury has never faced someone like Joyce. Fury absolutely would be blowing out of his arse against Joyce. He would not be able to keep up. Fury was absolutely gassed in round 12 against Klitschko, and that was seven years ago, pre-hiatus and two stones lighter. Fury hasn't once, since his comeback, looked remotely as evasive as he once was (when he tried to be, obviously). If Fury were to beat Joyce I would be impressed, but can't see it.
No he didn't. It was Cardiff and that was for Usyk who swerved. That date went out the window then because he knows he's fighting him early next year which has pretty much been confirmed now.
