It might not be a matter of the super six ... or moving up in weight. There's going to be some stellar talent moving through the ranks of the middleweight division. Earlier I seen Fernando Guerrero on ShoBox ... he's going to be looking for a title shot in the near future (being the WBO NABO champion) ... he's top 15 ranked by the WBO and is making a name for himself. A fight against Pavlik in the near future could be huge ... considering that Guerrero has already been on a small PPV venue ... he's a headliner on the eastcoast ... he can sell out 7+ thousand seats in Maryland ... take that along with what Pavlik could do and you have the makings for a great event. I'm sure he'll be on HBO soon ...

Then you have Daniel Jacobs who could be facing Guerrero in the near future ...

I can see a sold out Boardwalk Hall or even a sold out quicken loans arena ... i'm sure if thats on a TopRank PPV it will sell alot !!

Big Bone did a real nice write up on the young talent at 160 a couple weeks ago. The division is going to heat up pretty good. As long as Pavlik can continue to make the weight I think he could do like Hopkins and Haglar did. Just keep lining 'em up, and clearing 'em out.

Like it or not, the corrupt officials at the ABC's control belts that still have commercial value. They mean something to J.Q. Pubic.......

1st rate Korobov, Golovkin, Pirog, N'jikam

Jacobs - A step above the 2nd rate guys but a step below the 4 listed above

2nd rate Macklin, Lee, Lemieux, Zbik

with all these guys working their way up i can't see Pavlik holding on to those belts.

Golovkin is rated #1 for both the WBC & WBA titles that Pavlik holds so he should get a shot some time this year. I definitely think Golovkin has a shot at winning.

exactly, best way for pavlik to establish his legacy is by being an active, hardworking and dominant middleweight champion. the talent will come to him, just as it did for hagler, just as it did for robinson

Except Pavlik won't stay active and he won't keep making weight.

If kelly wants to stay somewhat successful he should just keep starving himself and stay at middleweight. he doesn't have the skills to compete with top boxers the same size as him. at super middleweight he'd get tossed around like a 2 dollar hooker.

i think the two go hand in hand. he has to go back to his work ethic from before. hagler was a ****ing spartan, pavlik needs that same attitude. minimum 3 fights a year, in shape and at weight all year round

168 right now is mostly just a place for guys Pavlik already knocked out, and guys who are scared shitless of him, to hide.

I hope so. But, I'm worried that all those flush punches to the head are gonna start wearing him away in the next year or two.

You can't use your chin as defense and stay on top for long.

    **** i didn't even realize that!! thanks!

He fought just 1 month ago on the Pac-Cotto undercard, had a great performance. I hope his fight is televised, ****ing better be.

With the guys i mentioned above that'll be a damn tough task. The next few years at 160 are going to be very exciting. I really don't see Pavlik beating all of the guys i listed, somone will get the better of him.

lol i like Pavlik alot but give me a break man. I do think going against guys his own height and who are most likely physically stronger would be a tough task for Pavlik.

    I think Bute beats him
    i'd favour Abrahammer
    Kessler is hard to call
I'd favour Pavlik over Froch but Froch could still win it, tough fight. Actually i'd really love to see this fight it would be exciting as hell.

I don't think it will be sorry to say. Remember, Pav just got stuffed onto a Latin Fury card because the orgs threatened to strip him after the Pdub fight fell through and they wanted some coin...
