After seeing what happened with Martinez, I do think team Williams is going to re-evaluate their thoughts on immediately stepping up to Pavlik.

Just fair warning to Paul Williams ... "When Pavlik lands that right hand, his opponents drop like a sack of potatoes ... they don't fall back or forwards, they just drop wherever they stand and they look dead" ... Martinez landed that right hook ... and so did Quintana ... and Sharmba Mitchell ... he has to find some defense early ... because all this warrior **** is going to get him knocked out.

I still favor Williams in this fight but, not sure that it's going to be that simple anymore. Pavlik doesn't get tired going deep into fights ... Williams has shown against guys who fight him back that he does show wear. He faded against Margarito, Quintana and against Martinez ...

Maybe Pavlik will have trouble with that southpaw stance ... I don't know his record against southpaws ... I'm just wondering how Williams hold up when they get into an exchange? ... thats the big question that Team Pavlik wants to know ... and they want to know how Williams will match up against someone who's as tall as he is and throws as many punches as he does?

Boxing is an extremely fluid sport. Things are always in flux, and every division has its ups and downs. Middleweight is on the rise right now. Historically and traditionally middleweight has always been the second most pretigious division in boxing.

There are good reasons for Pavlik to stay at 160, and dominate. I personally hope he sticks in the division long enough to build some kind of real legacy there. He's the man who stomped the undefeated, undisputed, champ. Now he needs Williams, Sturm, and a couple legit, undefeated, contenders on his resume'.

If Pavlik plans on sticking around at 160 for good i really don't see him beating everyone.

Korobov, Golovkin, Pirog, N'jikam at least one of those guys will have his number. 2 years time 160 will be one of if not the most exciting and talent rich divisions imo.

You forgot Jacobs, Gevor, and Guerrero. I have one concern I think is legit. Some of these guys might get to much hype to soon, and get fed to the beast that is "championship" boxing way to early.

If KP returns to form, as I think he will, all these guys would have to make some pretty dramatic improvements in order to deal with Kelly. We need some good contender vs contender fights.

@ 160 Pavlik is hard 2 beat. He makes up his lack of overall skill for Thudding power, heart nd chin. I rate his boxing ability gud-very gud. BHOP's power is nowhere near KP's, but his boxing ability I rate EXCELLENT, few like him. They r about equal n da speed dept. Nah, Hopkins a lil faster.

It would have been much better if Pavlik took Mundine as the warm up fight for PW......Is fighting Espino going to tell us anything?

Pavlik would get "owned" at 168 against any of the top SMW's At 160 he's the man,but mostly because he manages to squeeze his large frame down under the weight limit.Pretty simple logic tells you why a man that walks around way above his fighting weight "dries down" to make the limit.

Kelly actually didn't pull out. He said he needed a postponement because of the hand. Get your facts straight. I know. Too hard for most on ESB.

Pavlik wants to fight Williams. Williams wants his hometown, his criminal judges again, his referee, etc., esp. commentators. Pavlik will knock him out.

Pavlik is a very powerful and large boxer for 160.
He is managed by the most protective promoter in the business though. Lets face it, we will never know how good Pallik really could be because anyone who could potentially beat him won't get to fight him. Unless its an Arum boxer in which case Arum gets a big pay day regardless. But if not a top rank promoted fighter then Arum will only allow extreme underdogs (Locket, Rubio, Espino) etc.

Korobov hast the best chance in the future because he is a Top Rank fighter but it's hard to seet he likes of N'kam, Macklin, Pirog etc ever getting that chance. Arum will come out with the usual "no name" excuses etc. As previously pointed out on these boards the corrupt figures control the belts.
