Well if you're satisfied with seeing GGG go through the rest of his career fighting people of "Macklin" caliber then that's your prerogative. I don't see where the harm is in wanting someone who is MASSIVELY hyped like GGG to actually step things up and take on a live contender. I'm a fan of boxing and want to see good competitive fights, not just one-sided ko's of over-matched opponents from someone who I'm a fan of.

I'm not on here to slander GGG, for what it's worth I think he probably will deliver on the hype, I'd even go as far as saying that now Martinez is a certified cripple that he's probably the best out there at 160 but that doesn't exonerate him from proving himself against worthy opposition.

After retirement, records are the only thing which demonstrate a boxers true accomplishments - his "legacy." If GGG were to retire after Geale, would you be satisfied that he's fulfilled his hype....?

Golovkin is the better technical boxer, he is also at least as fast and hits at least as hard. He also doesn't seem to have any stamina or chin issues. Froch is a little bit bigger but I don't think that will be enough, Golovkin should win this.

Some people just don't like to see fighters get hyped so they have become a bit anti-GGG. Thinking with their emotions and not their brains.

 

Let's use brains:
Froch's resume shits over Golovkin's, in a higher division.

So far Golovkin is mostly a big PR job. Similar brainwashing is going on with Ronda Rousey on MMA forums/MMA media.

what do you mean what happened? He won a world title and eventually lost just like Froch lost, Kessler lost and most fighters lose at some point. Over the years many highly successful fighters have been hyped and many less successful fighters have been hyped. Hype is not a reason to be anti-somebody and it does not mean a fighter will win or lose, it is irrelevant.
