Alright after that great performance by hatton and the way the fight ended, I think its very possible then a fight between him and cotto at 147 could take place both are at the top of their game and pressure fighter, this could be great while it laast, I dont beleive hatton would be able to match cotto but it woulb be nice till it last.

No way Ricky will meet Cotto at 147.

Hatton is not in the same level as Cotto. It would be a blow out for Cotto-as soon as Hatton stops the hugging.

Hatton is great at 140, but since this will have to take place at 147, I don't see this happening.

I'm not so sure. Hatton was quoted this week as saying the majority of his remaining fights will be in the U.S. If so, he is going to want to re-sign with HBO as this was the last fight on his 3 fight deal with them.

One issue is going to be that there aren't a lot of high profile opponents at 140 anymore. Malignaggi would be a possibility, if Vivan Harris beats Witter would be another one. Maybe the Holt-Torres winner? Everyone has pretty much vacated the division.

If Margarito were to lose to Williams, I could definitely see a Hatton-Cotto fight take place. Cotto-Margarito is supposed to be on PPV. Who else can he get for a PPV opponent? No Mosley unless Top Rank and GBP make up. Clottey? A solid opponent, but, zero PPV value. Cintron? Pretty much the same.

Hatton would realistically be the best replacement for a PPV opponent.

You hit it exactly on the nail.

If Margarito wins expect Hatton/Cintron to be next
If Williams wins expect Hatton/Cotto to be next

Bad idea for Ricky. If he wants this fight he should bring Cotto down in weight.

I hope so Cotto vs Hatton or Cotto vs Margarito would be huge, i prefer Cotto hatton.

If the fight happens,. it'll be at 147lbs, no less that that. Catch-weight may be benficial for Hatton, but no way would it be beneficial for Cotto. Even at Welter, Cotto is a big guy. He may only be 5'8, but he's very wide for a 147lber.

I don't think Hatton vs Cotto wil happen anytime soon. If Margarito beats Willaims, then we all know who Miguel will most probably be fighting around November time.

Meantime, Hatton needs to keep active, not have long break like he did between Collazo & Urango. Ricky stated he felt better for having less time off after the Urango fight, so why not adopt that approach from now. Try to keep the momentum going so-to-speak.

Despite some people's reservations, I reckon Hatton vs Mosley could be next. Shane has stated he wants one more outing then he'll most likely retire. I figure Mosley is would be thinking a win over Hatton is a good way to go out.

For Ricky, it would be a chance to score a win over a top calibre fighter, a class operator who has been a top level fighter for a long period.

Fight makes sense in my view.

Cotto is too big to get down to 140, and if he did I think that Hatton would wear him down and stop him. However, at 147 Cotto is too big and comfortable. Cotto would stop Hatton in about 7 at welter.
