I still believe Cotto would dismantle Mayweather.

    Cotto would have Floyd backpedaling all night he would be a nightmare for Mayweather think Castillo 10x. Mayweather will not be able to potshot his way to a victory here, Cotto will be on Mayweather pounding him like a drum.

    I can too, but nut huggers will probably talk about his "amazing" defense and hand speed...... mayweather is so trash...

    I don't like the Castillo comparison because Mayweather had one tough fight but the beat him convincingly the second time around. Still, I belive it would be a great fight with Floyd winning a close decision.

    Your living in la la land mate, Cotto aint on Mayweather`s level, he`d get his slow ass handed to him thoroughly.

    Cotto has slow hands? Thats news to me... When he fought mosley i thought he displayed fast hand speed nothing special but i wouldnt say slow. Definaly fast enough to connect with mayrunner

    Plus, Cotto defense isn't very good. Floyd will beat him by decision.

    I don't think Mayweather will be able to KO cotto at 147, So that leaves us with Mayweather looking to counter going backwards most of the fight, while Cotto is cutting of the ring and landing vicious body/head shots Mayweather will simply be out landed and punished.

    Cotto most defintely breaks him down. Attacks with flurries and combos of speed and phloyd's lock up defense gets broken down. pot shots don't work on Cotto. cotto is too relentless and driven, ferocious and rough. Floyd fake retired to duck Cotto vs. Margarito winner. Too risky.

    Cotto and Margarito pre-Mosley have that relentless ferocity that floyd is just not sure he can handle. in all fighters he handpicks he must have that obvious clear flaw like slow feet, slow hands, lack of power. short height. aged. fading. Cotto and Margarito intimidated floyd with their styles and confidence.

    I think Floyd matches up well with Cotto, who, though good is a little too deliberate. Not that he's slow, but he takes his time and measures. I always thought Mosley would be tougher as he seems willing to press if things go poorly.

    I really wish he would have beaten Margarito, I think they would have fought if that happened.

    Cotto isn't particularly quick, isn't particularly good at cutting off the ring because he's not a pressure fighter, his defence isn't particularly good either. Mayweather 8-4.

    Mayweather will not want to clinch with the bigger Cotto his body will suffer for it. Clinching will only give Cotto more chances to land vicious Body shots.
    Mayweather will want a long range fight hoping to pick and offset Cotto with the jab..BuT Cotto's jab is also very good.

    I think its a closer fight than most people think. Of course I think Floyd edges it, but still a close fight.
