I still favor AJ over Wilder, but if Wilder makes AJ work then AJ will gas out

Szpilks, Washington and Ortiz were not chasing shadows they were landing and out boxing Wilder. The bigger and more skilled Joshua will be having even more success in the early rounds, and stop him.

 

Yeah if AJ comes in light then I favor him massively... If he comes in heavy like against Takam it's almost a 50/50 fight. His team obviously learned from that mistake and won't be coming in anywhere near that heavy again.

 

I don’t really see the big deal about that fight. Joshua fought with a broken nose, and not only win every single round, but dropped Takam; a man far more durable than Wilder.

 

That's because you're a fanboy who fawns over Joshua and aren't able to compute any sort of criticism(valid or otherwise) that comes his way.

 

Or it could be that he won every single round and dropped Takam.

Nah Takam definitely took a round or two(a fair argument could be made anyways) and the breaks in the action that allowed Joshua a much needed breather were suspect to say the very least.

 

The only possible round that could go to Takam would be the third round. Every other round Joshua won wide. I think Takam having more success in the third round was due to Joshua dealing with his nose.

 

Regardless Joshua gassed and it would be ill advised for him to come into a fight heavy again, especially against someone like Wilder or Parker. He might not have been so lucky if Takam had a world class punch.

 

Joshua’s work rate was not falling in the fight though. Joshua was landing the same heavy combinations in the 10th round, that he was in the 2nd. I’m going to look for the computbox.

 

AJ is very skilled compared to Wilder his corner is great and he`s brilliant at blocking then countering.

 

AJ has shed 14 pounds since that fight, his team know their stuff.

 

Wilder didn`t set the pace vs Ortiz and AJ is far more aggressive than Luis and Wilder.

Here you go. Joshua’s work rate was higher in the last rounds than at the start of the fight. It did peak in the middle rounds though, but there was not that much of a drop off. If the 10th round did continue it would of been the highest output of any round during the fight.

 

AJ has a better and more powerful jab than Wilder who was out jabbed by Ortiz who is a lot slower than AJ.
