"Gripping".....Seriously though.... a quality piece for sure. I kind of wish there is a movie that HBO put out on that.
We got that much dummy, lol. It's still 2 minutes of overused clichés, something that might require the critical thinking you brought up to notice. Looks good, smells good, feels about right, but still so corny, same problem that Hollywood movies have.
As evident in the Peterson brothers who were homeless and made it in boxing? Just ask Cristobal Arreola if you can make money on a poor diet, or how about David Tua?
It doesn't suggest that to be successful in boxing you have to become homeless and desperate. It only shows that even those who are at the bottom can rise to to top ;doesn't suggest you have to be at the bottom. And street fighting is better that robbing/stealing etc isn't it as a way to make money ? The thing that I didn't liked is that the owner of the gym didn't hired him as a cleaner or something and let him sleep on a bench somewhere in the gym , he was still sleeping outside with no roof over his head. Even long after he started to get boxing lessons he was still sleeping on the sidewalk or a bench on the streets.
It doesnt necessarily suggest that at all, it does suggest boxing can be used as a platform, even if you've hit rock bottom. As showed time and time again with fighters such as Pacquiao, the Peterson brothers. Its a beautiful snippet, personally I don't like the religious undertone but whatever, its still pretty beautiful.
What impress me the most was the scene with the can ... how he hold it like it was something extremely precious. And the scene when he drops all that change onto the canvas of the ring ( how long did he took to raised all that change ? )
The chain it was his.He had it from the begging of the clip (probably had sentimental value - since he begged for change before he sold the chain)
