I still rank Chagaev #2, not Peter (based on accomplishments)

I feel the same way Bigcat, both Peter and Chagaev are two of my favorite Heavyweights at the moment. As far as the Wlad/Peter 2 fight, how do you see it going down, will Peter pressure Wlad into a panic attack, or try to box him and try to set him up for that big right hand?

 

If that's how you see it . . . no problem with me.

Chagaev beats Peter.

He would have 95%+ accuracy with his straight left hand

 

If I am Peter's people this is the fight I try and make at all costs. Winner could fight Wlad to settle everything.

 

I think i would probably say Chagaev myself until i acually saw Chagaev hit flush just once in Vegas and he completely folded up and his eyes went up into his head, I just see it happening again once Sammy starts catcing him often and solidly on the ropes.. Chagaev can struggle with styles.. I think Skelton made work hard for Ruslin and Sammy now would make him give out ..

I see the Klitschko rematch being Sammys toughest test.. I think if Samy wants it badly he could win with counterpunching in spurts and picking him with hard jabs and clusters of powerful one twos.. Its the hardest fight for Sammy its a toss up but a winnable one at best..

 

Peter recovered from the best Klitschko and McCline put on him, Mccline had him over 3 times and with more flush shots couldn't see Sammy off even when Sammy was dazed , his chin is quite sound.. He is a better boxer now and has teh tools to find a plan B in a tough fight.. Never stopped or Ko'd yet has shown crushing power against some prety tough guys on the way up...

Jeremy W, Taurus Sykes, Julius Long, Maskaev, Yanqui Diaz, Had Toney and Kitschko on the floor... He can bang respectfully, Skelton even made the fight hard for Chagaev, and Ruslin hasn't boxed against half of the class of opponent Samuel has yet.. It would be a great fight either way, but i can tell you this, Samuel will be found to have the better chin, i have seen at close quarters what can happen when Chagaev gets caught flush.. he has a tendancy to get caught with an overhand right when he is on the ropes and he always gets dropped.. there are a lot of people who have seen this and we all know it could happen again.. His chin hasn't shown public weakness yet.. but it will be reveiled .. They are both great but Samuel the edge for me as an all rounder... God Bless...

 

Peter lost to the current #1 Wladimir Klitschko, as if you didn't know that already.

 

No Peter is not the linear chanpion...................

 

Lineage is often blown out of preportion,
The best fighter is the one who when all of the dust settles proves that he is strongest fighter by proof in facts... The dust has to settle yet..

So far we have 3 men claiming the title as heavyweight champ..

Wladimir.. 2 belt holder IMO.. currently edging as proven champ status..
Samuel.. WBC , just slightly ahead in 2nd place..
Chagaev.. WBA champ, solid fighter, decent champ but needs a defining show of strength to stamp his authority on the title..

I feel all 3 want unification and i think before long we will see it the only thing stopping progress is the re emergence of Vitali, he could keep the titles fragmented, he would interfere in unification and would never face his brother.. If you want to see two brothers hold titles simultaneously rather than see a unified champ .. I guess Vitali's comeback is for you, but its a little audacious to see a man come out of retirement and demand a shot.. These 3 have done very well to have the opportunity to unify , let them do it first then see what Vitali could do then.. He should wait like everyone else.

Chagaev's victims Virchis(who knocked out Hawkins who went the full route with Sam),Skeleton,Sprott,Valuev,and Ruiz(who beat McCline) are better than Peter's victims Maskaev( an old vet past his prime),McCline(who lost to both Valuev and Ruiz),Hawkins(Sam went the full distance with him whereas Chagaev's victim Virchis knocked him out in 5 rounds),or that fat former middle weight Toney.
Without any doubt Chagaev has the far better fight record of this pair.
Makes me wonder that anyone here really ranks Sam ahead of Chagaev-based on achievements of course,not personal liking.
