I think Tyson would have KOED Johnson too. In order to beat a tall guy that doesn't wanna fight, sometimes you gotta come in low and at angles and beat the **** outta their body.

But I think this thread was in reference to Vitali, but you gotta understand that styles make fights.

Vitali managed to win the fight, sure he looked bad, but when you got that type of fighter that fights scared in the ring with you, it often makes you look bad.

Remember Cori Spinks vs Jermain Taylor?

OK, well would Tyson have knocked out Zaire Ali? Please nobody jump down my throat for "comparing Johnson to Ali" - which I'm not - this is just in response to the styles analysis above.

Tyson wouldve ko'd Johnson prolly cuz he wouldnt have thought twice about blasting him in the back of the head when he went leaning down, meanwhile Vitali wouldve ko'd Tyson I think similarly to Lewis's win of Tyson.

OK, well he used a very similar posture to lure in Big George...you seemed to feel that this posture was a stylistic recipe for quick and brutal Tyson success. Is the difference then that you are assuming Johnson has a worse chin than Ali? Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't...we really have no way of knowing with the available data...

Come on man, Ali was a real fighter. He had heart.

Johnson man.......come on man......I mean ****.....back in the day he probably coulda got away with that ****. But nowadays, his son has gotta deal with the bullies sayin his daddy fought like a *****.

    Damn TV huh?

Agreed....... In terms of skill and finess, James Smith clearly jacked-off in the ring...... Smith was a kool dude and fun to see on the tube in the middle 80s onward up until 1993, but he was merely a hulking bomber who had one gear---SLOW!!

Kevin Johnson of 2009 has way more tools than Smith ever owned in 1985 / '86....... Smith being slow as a snail would struggle to land punches on the slick Johnson........

Smith was very limited in skills, speed and savy........ But a kool guy.......

Are you ****ing kidding me? Are you saying guys like Danny Williams and that piece of **** Kevin McBride are that much better than Johnson.

Jesus, face it already people, Tyson's done. He had his time in the limelight, so you can reminisce or whatever but he probably couldn't beat an average cruiserweight these days.

Some of these younger 20 something kiddies spat off too much about Tyson and all his fabled this and that retro crapola............ But I was there going through the pages of KO and Ring magazines and recording Tyson fights as they occured in the mid to late 80s....... Tyson was special from 1986 to 1989...... Come 1990 he ran into Buster Douglas in Japan, and in a sense, he was never the same...... Not even his epic fights with Razor Ruddock in 1991 were enough to prove that Tyson was the ball of fire from 1988; he was NOT!!! Fact is, Tyson had "3" great yrs on his career and then he burned out.... His post 1996 fights were a sad sight and a clear indication of a man merely hanging on for money..........

Tyson quit versus mcbride. was never knocked down, he was just tired and decided to pack it in. u should get your facts right before calling out a troll.

johnson's a decent fighter when he fights soft opposition but he couldn't even land more than a handful of punches vs a vitali who was right in his grill and not the fastest of guys, plus he had the reach on vitali. yes tyson shouldn't be fighting anybody at this point, but if he gpt into any type of shape, he'd give kevin johnson some problems at least for a few rounds. Add into the fact that johnson is so scared of getting hurt as made obvious last night (and that's the reason his ko percentage is so high -- he doesn't commit often to his punches), johnson could have a lot of problems.

danny williams ain't a step below johnson. johnson hasn't even beaten a top 20 hw. yes johnson might be better "skilled" defensively and in the art of being a *****, but williams's heat and power are light years ahead of what johnson has demonstrated thus far. btw, the only reason williams ko'd tyson in 04 was b/c tyson tore knee ligaments and was a cripple by the end of round 2.
