I'm taking GGG here. I think it will be similar to Holyfield after Tyson. He'll reign for a couple of years before he gets beat. Canelo is good, but not great. Who has he even beaten in the last 3 years? Old Cotto, Khan who is a WW (and was outboxing him before getting caught), Smith who isn't world level talent, Kirkland who was basically done, Lara which many think he lost, ahd Chavez was a drained zombie. I see how it's possible he could win, just don't think it's going to happem. Jacobs had not lost in 7 years before GGG. That was a good win for GGG, yet some on here don't want to give him credit.
Again, ODLH is quoted saying the fight was going to happen 09/2017 as far back as 05/2016... Guess what, the fight is happening 09/2017. You can stick to your little fantasy, Ill stick to the facts.
Yes he said that. This fight happened when ODLH wanted it to happen, I think its very obvious IsaL, dont you ? Who the hell was stalling this fight but him ?!? Like you said, he even said it. He said he will marinate it, he even pronounced this very word. So like I was saying and you we're ignoring, there were no real negotiations before March '17, ODLH was just taunting the fans. Anyway Its all good. 1.5 years is nothing. Others have ducked Golovkin for the rest of their careers What will be the PPV price, do you know?
I'm betting money on GGG. I don't see what is so special about Canelo TBH. Competent boxer with a sturdy chin and above average power and good handspeed? Sure, Canelo has all those things. But he also has not-so-good footwork, slow feet, and questionable stamina. GGG on the other hand has bone crushing power in both hands, excellent balance, a great jab, and a high boxing IQ. Yes, I'd say he is slower than Canelo and obviously older. But I don't see those things mattering in this fight, he still had enough in the tank to go 12 with Jacobs. While people say he struggled with Brook, I didn't see it. It is almost like the bar is set so high Golovkin isn't expected to even eat one jab or right hand. Brook landed a couple shots and made GGG miss some but he also got his faced broken in the second round. If I'm wrong about this fight, well I'll be out some money but from my vantage point GGG should run through Canelo in September.
Youre right, there was talk, in the media, so I woulnt call it playing with the fans it was just waiting for the right time. He did let the fight marinate and a s a result he can pay both fighters very handsomely. Im sure GGG and Loeffler were more than happy to follow suit. Even this is a real fight and is more exciting, and more meaningful I hope its not 100. My guess is that itll be 74.99 which I can deal with since both fighters are getting paid a lot.
Yea same here. I hope its not 100$ and I dont believe it will be 100$. I thought maybe they already announce it. They probably still trying to figure out wich price tag will bring them the largest amount. A smaller one with more buys or a bigger one with less buys. Also they got to see how will they be affected by the MayMac aftermath. It'll be positive or not? Many people will not ditch out 100$ again in less than a month. And to be fair, a lot of people would still stream it even if it would cost 20$ , so how low can you really set the price. You may have gussed it right with 74.99 The undercard isnt that impressive, no Mathysse like I was hoping, just JoJo , would've been nice to see Jacobs on the undercard K2 promotion and GGG himself totally went with ODLH's plan. G Even bailed out on the last belt for this fight.
PPV is killing boxing...................... Golovkin is, by far, the better boxer, more power, better balance, superior jab, iron chin, great footwork, can cut off the ring, they talk about his dangerous left hook, but what about his equally dangerous right hand, left jab, uppercut, body blows, angles, stamina, El Pollo had better not stop to rest as he usually does. El Pollo is counting on Oscar buying the fight for him, you saw how corrupt Kovalev/SOB was, Pac/Bradley, Provodnikov/Bradley, Lewis/Holyfield, etc...................don't forget Rigo's last fight. Did everyone see Bob Bennett lie live on HBO?
Knowing what a great year for boxing this has been and what a month September is going to be, at this point, I just hope that some shady business doesn't ruin the fight. All bull**** aside, both guys have what it takes and both will come to fight, you won't see someone running a marathon inside that ring or trying to score nut-KO and I don't expect this fight to be AJ vs WK kind of thriller where both go down and things can end with every punch but I definitely expect to be entertained by every minute of it regardless of who wins in the end, when top dogs fight each-other someones gonna be upset.
