I think Carl Froch is pretty underrated on this forum.

He does have some strong points but in his last fight both he and dirrell were both hopeless imo, maybe they somehow cancelled each other out

His main asset is 'elite self belief'. No one in boxing, apart from Mayweather, has so much self belief

I couldn't have put it better myself. Some boxing 'fans' would rather see 'handbags at dawn' rather than a real fight

Skills wise, he ain't. I'll give you the others (it's a wait 'n' see with Haye for me) though!

Understand that, Ricky Hatton had a pretty respectable career himself. Not really knocking Froch at all, as I applauded his courage, but reality is reality. I dont know how anyone could realistically say Froch won his last fight and I think its pretty obvious Dirrell was very green, so I was just pointing out the reality of a twisted skew.
Maybe Froch will win the whole damn thing! but the talent is a little deeper from this point forward, and hes already gone life and death with a shot fighter, and got a pretty lucky decision against a very green Dirrell.

...well that's the direction the ref was encouraging Froch to fight over there.

i wouldn't call taylor a shell of a former fighter, he was the favourite to win that fight even in the UK, at 8/11 with froch evens. and that was after having 4 times as many people backing froch as taylor here with the bookies.

pascal certainly wasn't a shell of a former fighter and there was no question marks about that one in a great fight. and look what pascal has done since.

I would say Froch is this generations Steve Collins. His style is ugly and flawed but through sheer strength, persistence and unbreakable will and self belief he is able to pull out a victory.

I have always been a critic of his and thought he lost a close decision to Dirrell but the man is capable of somehow coming up and getting the win no matter what. I am picking against him again against Kessler but don't think it will be easy for anyone to beat Froch in the super 6.

There is nothing impressive about Froch's performance against Dirrell. Dirrell dominated him in that bout and got screwed. Froch is the worst current champion in the sport.
