He will stand there and be hit, be it body or head. There is a reason dirrell ran for 80% of fight and a reason Taylor was KO soon as Froch aught up with him enough. The way to beat Froch is to not let him hit you, if you try a tactic that involves trading blows you lose imo simple as that.
I think it will be a good fight between Kessler and Froch. 2 guys that deserve alot of credit for being willing to take there titles on the road. In Kesslers last 6 fights, 4 of the fighters were undefeated, and in Frochs last 4 fights, 3 of the fighters were undefeated. Good form. After Kesslers loss to Ward, I think he might start well against Froch, building an early lead, but I think when Froch lands a few solid shots, think Kessler will start to close down a bit, giving Froch a close, possibly contraversial split decision win. The 2 reports I read on Froch vs Dirrell (a fight I thought could have gone either way) in Boxing News and The Ring Mag both had Froch winning
Carl Froch will be too much for the mentally weak Kessler. I think the Cobra got a confidence boost by what he saw Ward do to him by roughing him up and making it an ugly fight, which is right up Froch's alley. Froch is an old school warrior who will take Kessler into the deep waters and drown him.
I like both fighters but.. Kessler knows how to lose. Wheras Dirrel was negative and ran, leapt and defended for long spells (when he didnt clinch) - none of that is Kessler's game. Kessler likes to throw shots, press forward, box and fight... and i feel that will play right into the Cobra's hands. Froch has a rakish reach, a big punch and a granite chin - and he comes to win by knockout everytime he laces up. Fact is, Froch has beaten Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell on the spin - all of which are faster, more skillful and athletic than Kessler. Kessler will be a piece of cake compared to his previous 3 fights and afterwards he will be relegated into the Lacy - category of "why did we all rate him so highly" category.
You fail to mention that kessler was coming off a long lay off and needed a couple tune ups before ward. In the ward fight you could see his timing was off but got better as the fight went on. Ill take kessler over froch.
2 of my favorite fighters - everyone talking about how Froch is taylor made for Kessler. But I think Froch has a chance if he can drag Kessler into a war - Froch plays on people's ego - "big fight in Danemark - you're a warrior Kessler come out and fight me!!" That is how Froch tries to level the score and make up for his lack of technical skills. So come fight night I will be looking to see if Froch can goad Kessler into some exchanges. If Kessler has a good plan and sticks to it I reckon he will get a UD win.
The only thing i'm sure about this fight it's it will be a good one. It will probably help the super6 because let's face it Kessler need to win this one or his stock will get pretty low! And in the other hand Froch still got a sour taste from his "win" over Dirrell. Like all Froch fight i'm picking him to lost , probably a close one! But Froch still winning no-mathers what i'm saying, so.....
Its a must-win fight for Kessler, I think he'll have the edge for that reason. Froch isn't very good, and his luck has to run out sometime.
I would love for Kessler to bounce back but I am like the rest worried after his performance against Ward. Headbutts or not. Froch has one of the best advantages in my opinion He has an "0" on his record and nobody has more heart than a elite fighter with no losses. They don't want to lose at any cost. Look at how Calzaghe could dig deep even though he has been down and hurt, and how Froch did the same. Kessler lost a bit of that after Joe C, but he has another advantage that only a few can master. He has tried to lose and tries to improve his mistakes. Kessler has a lot of heart to but I hope it will show on April 17. Anyway I think it will be a great fight
If your name is Kessler then you absolutely love the idea of the super 6. You lose a world title and immediately in your next fight get a shot at a more highly regarded world title. I am going with Froch by KO. Calzaghe put alot of doubts in to my mind about Kessler especially how badly winded he was by feather fisted JC.
Well, you can be interested in a kessler-AA fight, but it's not on the docket mr fanny. Keep up with the sport, and don't just make well worded posts while spouting out about how "smart" you are and ESB members won't take such a dislike to you. K?
