Relax sweetheart, im sure he meant Dirrell. Froch won't beat anyone, he landed 3 punches for the whole fight against Dirrell and held just as much, aswell as throwing plenty of rabbit punches. I don't rate Kessler that highly but i'd be surprised if he didn't knock Froch out.
It's up to Kessler. If he comes well prepared and confident, he'll win for sure. But he knows how to lose for sure. His performance against Ward was so awful that I wasn't able to recognize him. I don't mean from the Perdomo fight but from the Calzaghe fight. Speed, timing, nothing was there. Of course, Ward is a very fast southpaw, a lethal combination for Kessler. Froch is a slow orthodox. On paper, Kessler should win easily. But... I'd like Kessler and Dirrell to win their fight. The tournament would become so close!
I got Kessler winning a wide UD or late KO. Froch's defence isn't any better than Andrade's, nor is his chin for that matter. If Froch takes the bombs Andrade did, he will fall.
Yes Frochs chin is so weak he is always getting put down, so many times in his career he been saved by the bell ect. Against super slick and elusive Kessler how will froch land any shot? He may aswell just quit now.....
He beat Pascal convincingly. Against Taylor, he showed great determination but needed every bit of Taylor's stamina problems to win. He got lucky with a hometown ref and judges against Dirrell. I wouldn't say these three fights are an indication that he will beat Kessler. He won't have much advantage in chin and power, Kessler is pretty solid in these categories and Kessler certainly doesn't tire like Taylor or run like Dirrell. Kessler lost to two fast and slick fighters, but Froch for all his power and guts is slow and predictable, not the attributes to exploit Kessler's limitations.
I find myself agreeing. Kessler has looked a step or two slower in his last few fights, and looked horrible in the Ward fight. I think he has trouble with awkward boxers, and one has to wonder if maybe he peaked too soon. I see Froch pulling the upset here.
if dirrel hadn't run and held so much, he may well have beaten froch convincingly, but it would also have given froch a much better chance of landing more himself, and froch's a good finisher, it only takes a couple of bombs for him to finish a fight.
If you go back and watch that fight again you'll see that Dirrell didn't hold that often, Froch held just as much and he threw plenty of rabbit punches. That's why Dirrell looked so down during the fight, he was getting fouled and then a point got taken off him. If you score that fight round for round and look at the punches landed I don't see how anyone can say that Dirrell didn't beat Froch convincingly. I've only seen Froch against Taylor and Dirrell and he's looked average both times, he is a very confident and lucky fighter however.
I keep seeing people post about how Froch isn't anything special. I agree with this, but if that's the case, what makes you think Froch will have better luck than Andrade? I remember Librado not being able to catch Kessler for a good 12 rounds, and given that Froch isn't that much better and with a similar style (come forward pressure fighter with bad defense), I don't see him winning this one. But Kessler is mentally weak and doesn't adjust during fights, and these two factors prevent me from being very confident in picking him over Froch. Still, apart from having a warrior mentality, determination and power, Froch hasn't done anything to impress me so far.
I'm on board with that ... Froch has something that Kessler doesn't have ... Froch has more dimensions. They are both equal in speed, with the slight edge going to Kessler, but Froch has more power in his right hand and he has a better jab.
Technical Kessler is better. Mentally Froch is better. Hometown advantage could be the decider ...........
