I just think fighting the likes of Campball,Freitas,Corrales,Katsidis,Castillo were in my opinion bigger and more dangerous than Marquez I still look at Marquez as a big featherweight and he gets drop easily by Pacquiao Joel just been in with bigger and maybe a bit better competition. I love Manny and Marco Antonio but they would get beat up by Castillo,the late Corrales and Freitas those guys were a different animals. Marquez is great but I rather see him fight the likes of the Ghost Guerrerro, Valero, Linares, Larious, Arthur, Bayoli I just think 130 is just more suited for Marquez a cagey hungry veteran like Casamayor will be to much.
IT will be an incredibly tough fight for JMM. Props for taking it when he could have just sat around waiting for Pac to fight him. Im sure he knows it has to happen since it was a hell of a fight once again and the PPV was very succesful.
I have been thinking about this fight and I lean on Marquez by TKO somewhere in the mid to late rounds. The first 2 or 3 rounds will be complicated but JMM will find a way to constantly land hard rights on Casa's face and fight him from the mid range to keep Casa's foul tactics to a minimum. The KO will just come to him.
JMM is still a debutante in 135, none has proven in his table at present. He got easily KD from the sizes like of Pac, Mab, Norton but astonishing flare with small sizes like Juarez and Jaca. I dont want to play biased here, but rate those KO performance of JMM in SF div.
You played biased there homie. Pacquiao did not KO MAB and JMM, he did KO the smaller men in Velazquez, Solis, and Larios, and then the shot Morales. If Marquez has enough pop to hurt Pacquiao with accuracy several times as demonstrated in their rematch then he is very capable of hurting Casamayor.
Did I say "Pac KO MAB and JMM?" Its my honet opinion buddy, my comparison maybe too shallow for you, but I rest my case. This data gave me those idea and im sure you will not agree with me; CASA in SF division : 7 KOs including that of the late Diego. Lost 2 (Frietas and rematch w/ Diego) CASA in LW division : 15 KO's. Lost once to Castillo JMM in SF div : Only 1 KO compliments of a bum Jaca and Lost via SD vs. Pac. Most of his fight go to distance. JMM in LW div: All remains to be seen
You have a point . . . but you see JMM is now seeking another fight with Pacquiao and in order to get that . . . he has to position himself at 135. Both JMM and Casa are not pressure fighters. So what do you mean big win? This is gonna be a boring chess match and I can assure you that JMM is very much capable of winning this on points. A slow technical fight is JMM's bread and water. :yep
the jaca fight happened @126. jmm only had 3 fights @130, juarez, mab and pac w/o scoring any KD/KOs. actually, it was mab and pac who KD'd him. to think that all of them are naturally smaller than jmm having started at a lower weight class. in contrast, pac had 8 fights @130 compiling a record of 7-1 (4KOs). and velasquez whom pac KO'd @130 is a natural SFW having started his career at that weight class.
I'm in the minority when I say the fight won't even be competitive. Casamayor isn't the same fighter. It was an awful performance against Santa Cruz, and not a particuarly impressive one against B level Katsidis. Marquez is A+ and will box his head off for 12 rounds. I hope. :good
i don't know but i still think marquez wins this one. If a lesser boxer in sta. cruz would dominate him, then marquez would more do so. And the reason i voted for casa to win against katsidis is because katsidis is overhyped, simply put he wasn't even a gauge to see if casa is still the same. I was highly confident on casa winning against katsidis and my predictions came true but against marquez i just don't see that
oh oh ! I have seen this before, a nuthugger wanting Juan Manuel Marquez way the hell out of Pacquiao's way with no success at anything else. :-(
In Casamayor's last two fights, he was outboxed by B-rater Santa Cruz and brawler Katsidis. Unless Casamayor catches JMM, he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning. Unlike Katsidis, JMM actually has defense, and won't leave himself open to get whacked.
