Silva has been defeated while Le has never lost is any professional competition.
Silva is great BJJ and Muay Thai and is UFC middleweight champion
Le is great in Sanshou/kung fu and wrestling, is undefeated professional Sanshou, K-1 and MMA

No disrespect to Le but he has not faced the kind of people A Silva has and nor has he fought as many people with UFC type rules, it would be foolish to give the advantage to a man who has done less in total with lesser opponents, Anderson Silva has vanquished every single elite fighter with devastating special affects.

Frank Shamrock is a former UFC middleweight champion so to state that Cung Le has not faced real competition compared to the current UFC middleweight champion is a complete falsehood. Needless to say their resumes can't be compared - but to state that Cung hasn't faced real competition when he has TKO'd the former UFC champion is simply not true.

Everyone picked Shamrock to punish Le. It didn't happen. Give credit where it is due.

HW - Rutten and Randleman (should have just been Randleman)
    LHW - Frank
    MW - nobody
    WW - Pat Miletich
    LW - nobody

Franks still a very good fighter and Le deserves alot of credit, but he hadn't been a UFC champion for a long, long time.

Shamrock was unbeaten in the Octagon. He is a credible opponent. Revisionist MMA history cannot change that.

But here and now, Cung Le hasn't beaten a highly ranked MW. Untill he does, he just isn't going to get the credibilty that he probably deserves.

Yes he is definatly a credible opponent and certainly a great scalp to have, but the UFC was very different 9 years ago.

It's not a complete falsehood. An outside his prime Frank Shamrock doesn't compare to a prime Rich Franklin twice, Dan Henderson, Prime Marquardt, and Okami (even though he was disqualified).

Shamrock is the only name that Le has defeated, and it wasn't a prime shamrock and shamrock fought Le like a moron.

George Foreman had not fought anyone "credible" before he destroyed the invincible Joe Frazier.

"prime" is purely a subjective designation that at times is given more weight than it should be. I clearly stated that Le's resume cannot compare to Silva's however Frank Shamrock is as credible of an opponent as anyone on Silva's resume aside from Dan Henderson. Rich Franklin is a good fighter and perhaps even a great one - but what were his notable victories before being dismantled by Silva?

Whoah whoah. Rich Franklin is very probably the second best fighter in the MW division and I wouldn't favor Cung Le over Franklin. He beat Tanner twice, Okami, Ken Shamrock (when that still meant SOMETHING), he JUST beat Hammil at 205, he beat Travis Lutter Nate Quarry, and Jason Macdonald. Rich Franklin's resume is much better than Le's, even if it's only because he's been fighting longer and in the top organization, it's hard to argue that.

Beating Rich Franklin when Silva did is MUCH bigger than beating Frank Shamrock when Le did.

Ken Shamrock is the name most comparable to Frank's on that list. So make of that what you will. He beat a bunch of middlers and got crushed by Silva twice.

I can't believe you guys take any of those reality show fighters from UFC serious.

That garbage turned me off to the UFC, and got me watching any rival promotion instead.

Pride was better, if Elite XC would have lasted it was better, Affliction would have been better.

UFC turns a profit, but it turns stomachs too.

In amongst the drama there are a few potentially good fighters, Forrest was a winner on season one, Rashad on another, That English Bispang? guy better at 185 then 205 for sure, then the last winner Amir beat that horrible CB Dobber balls twice and had the hardest path to the finals, now this season has Philip Novar, a young GSP or a PAC for MMA, hilarous I know but Dana White is a showman.
