Floyds self proclaimed toughest fight was against the drunken master ..wacky defensive wizard...I think money absorbes a bit of everyone he fights...he does have those smarts.... he can't absorb how to be a tough run through attacker bull type.. but he does take everyones lil good traits I personally think floyd would have lost against pernell whitaker...another defensive craftsman... It seems that if you play around too much...or even do some dramatization after being hit... the judges don't seem to laugh like the audience...they see the head shake like "that was nothing" as..."oooh that musta hurt". Character plays a bit too much in boxing...it sells...but if there is someone you want's head taken off...and the hero lands a nothing punch to the hateds head while his gloves are covering his face...the crowd goes buck wild anyway..and judges still think its a hit........ thats how i have seen too many fights anyhow.. Augustus has won so many of the fights that went over to his opponent. this is just a known thing....everyone that has seen at least one of his joints knows he was robbed at least once...or twice...or whatnot. As far as i go...i dig the tacticians..and the showboats...i eat up the interviews that set up the fights....I just simply love the sport. emanuel augustus has simply the most hilarious and skilled wild defensive acts...that i can only compare to pernell whitaker and jackie chan..The man has a terrible record but...he is a journyman much like glen johnson.. rough rugged and raw.... as boxing fans...watch this cat do his thing...he even outroy's roy jones jr in his spectacular manner. don't mind me...my first post... get at me
not sure about floyd owing him and all that, but I did love emanuel augustus. First thing I did in my first sparring match was try to do my defense like him, didn't work out as well though.
brutal... might i recomend...legend of the drunken master. I'm happy that the man that made friday night fights an entertaining show got his props from another fan... big up!
there are good videos where he is doing battle with micky ward and also doing a bit of a demo on money may...(for all those pacman fans) he is about 30 wins and 30 losses.. but for the life of me.. what a show he puts on...i never seen anyone with the hands behind their back as long as he did...and i never seen anyone dance as long...(even the people that do the constant hop)... p.s. whoever seen someone get a double fisted punch out the blue? i was always ready that he would **** up and throw a kick!
augustus lost under roger mayweathers training...two weeks.... it was a fight that he was called upon last minute...against some cat they named "gato" or something...on the calzaghe jones jr fight another : here you go judges $$$$ thankyou....... ummm...which guy is it again?....yeah......this one...this guy...
it would be easy to watch the august tapes.... in preperation of battling floyd... they would just have to learn how to be a crazy dancing unpredictable fool kungfu master
why the laughter... thats a true statement. much like ward...much like johnson.... just someone that has never gotten his shine. I'm sure you will dig the cat when his movie/documentary comes out. even if it's just as a fight fan
The dude timing was scary, how do u do all those antics and not get KTFO every single time you do it.
This fight was only tough for Floyd because of Roger's insistence on him being more offensive minded, had he boxed Augustus it would have been an easy night IMO.
